Neat-o record store finds!

Yeah, I was down at my local record store today, and while sorting through the punk section, I found an old copy of Frankenchrist by the Dead Kennedys... Released by Alternative Tentacles before the formation of Manifesto, or whatever that whole dealie is about.

Theres some history here, with a split between Jello and the rest of the band, and so the rights to some of the music have been wrested from AT, and are being published by Manifesto.

Nine bucks, anyways. Score.

Wow, what a buy!

You sure you don't want to give that to me?

I'm still scouring all yard sales and record stores for that elusive Butcher Baby album by The Beatles. When it was initially removed from the shelves, the albums were simply re-covered with a new photo, and I keep thinking I'm a steam kettle away from being rich.

I bought someones entire record collection for £5 from a jumble sale, about 50 records total.

Most of it was utter shit (mostly british pop 12"s) but on the top of the pile was an incredibly rare 'Streetsounds - Electro box set' in perfect condition which I've seen sold for £150 - £200.

...and when the 80's revival hits full swing I'll be the only DJ in town with the ultimate 12" disco mix.

Muahahahahah.

I found a cassette copy of Appetite for Destruction by Guns n Roses from the 80's. Only .50 cents. That and Ozzy's Bark at the Moon.

I picked up the compilation CD that has

Apotheosis - O Fortuna.

It was an awesome rave song that I used to love when I went to raves in L.A. in the 80's & early 90's.

It was released in 1991 and then removed from all of the shelves.

Quote:

This record was a real hype in the early 90's house-scene. This was caused by the family Orff who owned the rights on the original masterpiece by the classic composer Carl Orff.

On most classic music, there are no copyrights, but on the "Carmina Burana" there are...

The family Orff sued "Apotheosis" and won; the record was removed from the stores!!!
(...so that's why this item is a collectors-item).
The only bummer is that I haven't been able to rip the song to mp3.

Always good finds to be had at this second hand record/video/book/video game store here called 'Cool Stuff':

Soundgarden "Louder Than Love" - $4

Godflesh "Selfless" - $3

KMFDM 'symbols' album - $3

Skinny Puppy video collection VHS - $1

I saw KMFDM's 'Boots' CD single there once for $1, but didn't get it for some reason or another. Wasn't there the next time I went. Bummer.
