Favorite Foreign Language Songs?

After watching Kill Bill Vol 2 I was stunned at the music from the end credits. After getting the album I learned it was spanish/latin song "Chingon - Malaguena Salerosa".

This is simply one of the best songs I've ever heard. I even looked up the spanish lyrics and translated them into english.

So, my question to all you music buffs: What are some of your favorite foreign language songs?

Biftek! Silly song about food we used to sing in French class...I still find myself singing it seven years after I took French

heh...seriously, though...I love "Les Youx Ouverts" by Beautiful South...it's the French adaptation of "Dream a Little Dream of Me." Such a pretty song.

I'll have to agree with that one.

Also, coming from the complete opposite side, “Ubi caritas,” by Maurice Duruflé, is one of the most gorgeous a cappella pieces ever written. Sounds sparse and simple, but the chords are wild when you break it down.

Buena Vista Social Club is the best foreign language music I've heard. The story behind the music and the music itself is amazing. Great stuff.

There is a korean band called Billy Club Sandwich. I have no freakin clue what the name of the song they do is, but it is a great dance/techno song. Which is really funny because I'm more of a metal head then a techno type, but the song just rocks.

Alizee songs. Most Europeans hate her, but I like the fake french Britney Spears sound.

I liked Noir Desir, until I found out the head guy killed his wife (girlfriend?)...

Alizee songs. Definately. I love European rock because it's similar to techno, but different, and I love techno. Give me any european techno and I'm set as well.

Some favorites:
1)Anything and everything by Charles Aznavour
2)Most everything by Astrud Gilberto
3)Most everything by Patricia Kaas
4)The last album by Pizzicato Five was pretty damn fabulous.
5)Does Bob Dylan singing count as a foreign language?

I have to admit that I like Alizee especially the videos with the mute button firmly in hand.

Kal Ho Na Ho

Currently, the theme song Kal Ho Na Ho from the movie by the same name just blows me away. Especially when mixed with the other instrumental track that features the same melody.

Mahi Ve is more popular with most people. But, for me Kal Ho Na Ho is timeless. Check out all the instruments that show up in the mix.
