My Immortal
I am either hallucinating or have noticed something very weird about the song.
On VH1, MTV, and the radio, the song bursts into drums and electric guitar at the end (when Amy hits the hard chorus and the instruments pick up). It sounds pretty cool and compliments the song quite nicely. But my.......umm....."acquired mp3" version of the song does not do this. Is there two different versions of the song? On my mp3, she bursts into that part of the song at the end, but no drums or guitar are present. Someone confirm this

Disclaimer: I like enjoy both versions of the song, but can't decide which is better. This isn't a thread to say which is better (you can if you want). Just a thread to see if anyone else has heard the "quiet ending" version.

I had the same "problem"...I like both versions, but I think the rock version is the best one.

Right. There are two different versions of the song. There's the ballad 'solo' version, and the band version with guitar and drums at the end.
Personally, I think the song is much better suited to the ballad version. The band version seems to have a bit of a faster tempo that just doesn't let Amy draw out some of those power notes like she does in the slower one. If they would have kept it at the same tempo (or am I just insane and they're both the same?), the band version probably would have been my favorite, but that just isn't a song that needs to feel rushed. |

Afterthoughts: I like this song so much better than Bring Me to Life. I was tired of Bring Me to Life after the 4th time hearing it. I've heard My Immortal many times now, and it's not old yet
I saw an interview and Amy and the other guy that started the band said a big influence on their music was Meatloaf. Now that I think about it, My Immortal has that Meatloaf ballad thing going for it. A big twist, but ballad nonetheless.

Redjake is a man wise beyond his years. I like Bring Me Back To Life but it doesn't even compare with My Immortal. I like both versions too but I like the ballad version better too. Best song on their first album and I can't wait for their offering.

Amy is............ gorgeous in that video. She is perfection. Best video so far, IMHO.
