Joan Jett and the Blackhearts - I Love Rock n Roll on vinyl
I agree with what GSRIDER said in this thread, Joan Jett is freakin' awesome. A real rocker chick. Can't remember the first CD I bought. I've lost or damaged so many of those over the years. I should call the RIAA for a refund. Last one I got was Live - Birds of Prey. And cassette, no idea. Probably wouldn't admit to it if I could remember. That bad.

I know it was the Eagles, but I can't remember if I bought their greatest hits or Hotel California first. And yep, I still have both of them

The Police - Ghost in the Machine.
I don't think I bought it, but it was the first record that was all mine (not counting childhood favs like "Sesame Street Fever" and the soundtrack to "Pete's Dragon") (also not counting various K-TEL compilation albums I owned before then, of which the first was "Power Play") I don't have any idea what was the first album I purchased with my own cash. First CD's: The Beatles - Revolver The Riolling Stones - Hot Rocks (the first one, with Satisfaction and all the other goodies) Pink Floyd - Dark Side of the Moon, I think (might have been Wish You Were Here) Last edited by balderdash111; 02-16-2004 at 08:45 AM.. |

I saved up my money for a loong time in order to buy Pink Floyd - The Wall. It was my first album and I was only 11ish years old. That was when I first fell in love with Pink Floyd. I now have a bunch of their other albums, but The Wall is no longer in my possesion. It was stolen a few months ago, along with all the other cds that were sitting in my ex's car up in Wisconsin...

Hmm... very hard to say.
I remember buying MC Hammer when it first came out... but before that I can recall listening to Weird Al - Even Worse. My first "real" album that got me seriously interested in music: Nirvana - Nevermind in '91. After that ... Faith No More - Angel Dust ('92), Metallica - Black Album, and GNR - Use Your Illusion II, but it all stemmed back to Nirvana.
