I'm a long time AVAIL fan, though I wouldn't necessarily call them hardcore.
|
fuck yeah hardcore!! I'm a major fan! I go to shows in Chicago all the time. We're seeing The End at the Fireside in March. Some of my current favorites are: Every Time I Die, The End, Burnt by the Sun, Shai Hulud, Poison the Well, Scarlet, Remembering Never, Stretch Arm Strong, Made from Nothing , the Hope Conspiracy, In Pieces, As I Lay Dying, and many others.
|
Hatebreed, Left With Nothing, Ignite.

i'm not sure if all of these are 'hardcore'. kind of gave up on genres/subgenres. but i like poison the well, dillinger escape plan, botch, meshuggah, hope conspiracy, from autumn to ashes and blood brothers on occasion.

im not trying to start an argument, so dont cuss me out but why do you like hardcore. i have heard dillinger escape plan, converge, hatebreed etc. i really cant stand hardcore. the yelling is in no rhythm and out of key. its all the same tempo and every song and band for that matter sound the same. what sealed my disliking of hardcore was american nightmare....these kids told me a.n is so awesome they are so good...i listened to them and it was the same stuff as i heard before. then they said you have to read the lyrics. although converge and dillinger escape plan i think are actually pretty good and dont just follow the template of a hardcore band....please fill me in on why you like hardcore.

black flag

Out of the all the bands listed I didn't see Rise Against, AFI.

heh, I would hardly consider todays AFI hardcore at all.. they are like gothpop now.. even their old stuff was more punk to me than it was hardcore..
only hardcore I like is Atreyu, from autumn to ashes(too bad your beautiful CD is amazing).. and early AFI I guess if its considered hardcore, very proud of ya is one of my favorite CDs.. |
Rock hardcore does nothing for me, but im in love with happy hardcore it RoX
|

Only hardcore I enjoy is when the vocals go trade off between screams / emoish, like Atreyu and From Autumn To Ashes do.. like if you aren't sure if you like hardcore or not give Atreyu - Aint Love Grand a chance, that song is amazing. |
rbox i have the lyrics to aint love grand tattooed on my arm..seriously that song is the most craziest love song..i deticated it to my wife
|
its so hard to see when your eyes are rolling in the back of your head

that album is striaght hardcore |
Loads of metalcore listed above, not hardcore... whatever. I'm not getting into that arguement. Sure, they're similar, but they certainly aren't the same thing.
I used to really like Hatebreed, Terror, some Sworn Enemy, but grew out of it quickly when I discovered grindcore. I can still listen to some of it, and I still LOVE Dillinger and listen to them quite a bit, but they aren't text book HxC either. I don't understand the "dancing" that hardcore kids seems to like so much. If you're going to mosh, go for it, but that spin kick shit has no place at a concert in my eyes. |
Jesus! The invisible ninja brigade attacked another concert? This is getting out of hand... Thank god those music lovers were well trained.
|
Joshua Fit for Battle. They broke up awhile ago, though.
|
I like Unearth, From Autumn To Ashes, Avenged SevenFold (not too sure if they are considered hardcore), Blood Brothers, Black Flag, Fugazi, and Hatebreed. Some Converge too. Alot of hardcore is really bad though.

anyways, hes right, most of this is metalcore. hardcore I always thought, was a really really hard punk. Gorilla Biscuits Death Threat Minor Threat Bane Bones Brigade Charles Bronson Dead Serious Figure Four The Hope Conspiracy The Suicide File Neil Perry |
i find atreyu to be my favorite 'hardcore' band.
|
Okay, there's definitly some subgenres thrown in here, but oh well... And yes, a lot of them are christian hardcore..still amazing though
I'm going to put them in categories...because I'm a nerd like that: Best Vocals/Screamers: 1- The Number Twelve Looks Like You--> www.purevolume.com/thenumbertwelvelookslikeyou 2- Haste The Day--> www.purevolume.com/hastetheday 3- Underoath's old screamer (can't find a site, but if you illegally download...try "A Message For Adrienne") 4- Bloodlined Calligraphy--> www.purevolume.com/bloodlinedcalligraphy (Yes, their screamer is a chick.) Best hardcore that has some regular singing? (what a horrible name) 1- ThricePoison The Well 2- Alexisonfire 3- Poison The Well 4- Emanuel 5- Eighteen Visions 6- From Autumn To Ashes And well some honorable mentions with no place else to put them--> 1- mewithoutYou (Best Hardcore Christian) 2- Norma Jean (Just because it's norma Jean 3- He Is Legend (hardcore+ odd lyrics) 4- SHOWBREAD( hardcore+powerpop?) 5- War of Ages (The music for the two greatest pits I've ever seen) 6- Emanuel (goood stuff) Yes...I love hardcore... |
I am suprised nobody mentioned Agnostic Front or 25 Ta Life. Also.....
Minor Threat Sick of it All Hatebreed Madball |
I was just wondering about the hardcore kick box dancing. People call me a crust punk, and I'm not really in to Atreyu or Earth Crisis (mainly because I think their politics are lame), but I do like Death By Stereo and stuff like that, and when I do on occasion go to those shows, I see the Kick Box dancing. What's up with it, and where did it come from, and etc... Just wondering.
