Robert Randolph During the tribute to funk on the Grammy's, there were solid performances from Earth, Wind & Fire, Outkast and, of course, George Clinton and P-Funk. The artist who caught my attention was Robert Randolph & The Family Band. They were amazing and although I had never heard of them before, I want to get my hands on a cd. Does anyone else know more about them??? Am I the only one who is late to this party?? |

Next to The White Stripes, that was another good performance, took up a big slot of time to put a stop to the horrible show otherwise. |

I've seen Robert Randolph and the Family Band live twice and they are unbelievable. If you think that performance was good, see them live |

Hell yes! Robert Randolph & The Family kick ass! Awesome live band! Though I'm making that statement based on the live tracks I've heard from Bonnaroo and never actually seeing them live myself. From what I can tell, they are a kind of R&B/Funk/Jam band. A freind of mine has thier Live At Wetlands CD and it pretty good. You might want to check that out. |

You just don't run into a funk, steel-guitar sound all that often!!! |

On another note, I'll have to disagree with you when you say that George Clinton had a solid performance. He could barely sing! That guy has been on the crack pipe (quite literally) for a long time, and the toll it's taking is quite apparent. I do totally agree with EWF and Outkast tearin it up though. |
