So, I've seen these guys tonight, at the Beacon Theater in NYC... Never seen or heard this band before, and picked up the tickets purely on whim, but wow... I was totally bown away by the music, and by the light show. They even had pyro!

A quick impression of what they sound like: try 1/3 Beethoven, 1/3 Progressive Rock/Metal, and 1/3 pure genius. This is what Trans-Siberian Orchestra is all about.

Anyone else heard them or seen them live? What do you think?

In the Most Depressing Songs thread someone listed Old City Bar by TSO. I downloaded it and was blown away. That was one hell of a song. So I downloaded a lot more stuff and it was pure crap and I didn't keep any of it. But check out Old City Bar. Fabulous song.

Yea, I think they played that live! It WAS an awesome song, but the rest of the concert was even better, IMHO. I think I'll definitely investigate the rest of this band's work...

Such an amazing band..or orchestra..or whatever the hell they are! love their christmas stuff

All I know about them is that I'm sick of hearing that one song of theirs 15 times a day at christmas time for about the past ten years now. WOW a rock-out version of carol of the bells!! Holy shit!!!

I'm in no way demeaning the group or their talent, by the way.
