What's the best p2p for music?

I have Kaza winmx, etc but is there any websites out there that have full albums out that you can download in a zip file? It sucks trying to download a full album of kazza most of the time its the wrong song.

thanks,

IMO, There was only one music site that was worth it...Audio Galaxy. Anything I was looking for I could find it on there...And I mean Anything.

It's dead now, And I haven't found a Music Site that is even close to what Audio Galaxy once was.

I use a combination of eDonkey / eMule and BitTorrent using the BT++ client.

Between these two I could find pretty much any album I wanted and download them with speed

Sadly alot of the sites I was getting my .torrent links from seem to have dissapeared.

I find Share Reactor and File Nexus a good place for downloading whole albums (using eDonkey )

www.grokster.com is what I use. I have found alot of deep cuts off of Cd's and even full cd's. The biggest drawback are the occasional popups and advertisements.

Usenet is where it's at. The one caveat is there is a slight learning curve and you can only download what someone is kind enough to post but that is what requests are for...

I agree! Ag is th best... EVAR! 93.1% of the time I can find the song I'm looking for. And the speed is superb. I miss it dearly

I use Kazaa now and sometimes I look for albums on IRC.

I have to agree with you on that. That's where I get 95% of my album downloads. When I only want a certain song at a party, I fire up kazaa. The best thing about Usenet is the people ripping the music and posting really know their shit, so the ID3 tags are right, songs are not cut off, and they are named correctly.

It's really worth it to put the time involved in learning how to properly use it. A program that makes it easy id grab-it, found at http://www.shemes.com/index.php?p=download It's not perfect, but it's easy as hell to use.

Yeah, usenet is really the best place for full albums and trying out new artists.

I like KDX too. There are some sweet music servers with hard to get content out there.

Yeah, AG was the best during its time. I could find anything there.

For more obscure music, go to soulseek, you can find just about anything there.

Kazaa lite for songs, Direct Connect (DC) if I want full albums of well known artists.

seriously, for full albums in proper rels format (192, sfv, etc) IRC is the best way for most everyone.

y'all just gotta give it a try

I have to recommend Piolet for anyone who hasn't tried it already. It reminds me of napster, just music, fast, decent size and growing selection.

I like Direct Connect and have started to enjoy bittorrent as well. Direct connect seems to contain a greater amount of quality downloads and faster speeds. You do need to have a decent sized collection to share out to start otherwise you can't access many servers.

i have been trying soulseek after seeing it on here for the last week and it is so good i deleted kazaa lite 2 and only use it now.
the users who used to be on ag or kazaa share the old shared folders so the videos etc are still there.
it has a huge focus on the stuff i like like downtempo and chillout electronica, but they have so many rooms with every type of genre i havent used anything else.
it took a few days to0 learn but the way you get full cds already organised is great and i have yet to find fake files or looped bites like i did on kazaa. thats what made me switch, all the fake files flooding the kazaalite 2 p2p.

I have Kazaa... what's the difference between that and Kazaa lite? Also, Kazaa itself would be much better if people would rename and keep the crap versions of songs in their share folders. Rename it so other people dont keep downloading it from each other. It really suks on a 56k!

I use Azureus, which is Java based, but really a terrific program. Works like a champ.

Obviously, in this post Suprnova environment, the key to using BT is stuff like this:

http://torrentspy.com/latest.asp
http://www.towerseek.org/search.jsp
http://www.isohunt.com/

That's it. Azureus and those three.

<a href="http://torrentreactor.net/">Torrent Reactor</a> is a pretty decent site. Between that and Shareaza, I find most of what I want. I just wish Audio Galaxy was still around. I think half my MP3 collection is from there.

I just started to use Napster. It's pretty good, monthly fee is low for the amount of songs you get. Plus, you can't go wrong with a company that advertises this way: www.napstergirl.com
