I'm not sure he's as cutting edge as he was a few years ago, but he's definately a pioneer of music.
I think it'd be worth it to see him

Heathen is a GREAT album. I wish I had the hardware to play the SCD version of it - I hear it really takes advantage of the technology.
As for Bowie in general, I've always liked him. Not many artists can continue to come out with innovative music decades after they first appeared in the music scene.

i absolutely love bowie. i just got his new album about a week after it came out (6 weeks ago?), and it's good. different, but good. whatever style he seems to set the album in, he does a great job with. his new one (reality) is a bit more jazz than rock, but he does it well. he's coming here in january, and i would kill to get a couple tickets to it.

You cannot say enough about the genius and the sheer god-like powers David Bowie possesses. It's like Zeus knocked up a Muse and Bowie is their love-child. If you CD collection doesn't include some of the following your life has been without meaning and import:
1)Scary Monsters 2)Heroes 3)Heathen 4)Aladdin Sane 5)Station To Station 6)Hunky Dory 7)The Rise And Fall of Ziggy Stardust If you didn't take the opportunity to see him now in concert, you would be haunted for the rest of your days for having missed an artist of the highest degree perform his craft like no other. See this concert and enjoy every second.

I'm New Zealand biggest Bowie fan, well at least one of the biggest, I'll be going to his premiere Australasian show in Wellington NZ. I must have at least 30 Bowie recordings and at least 10 Bowie DVD's, not to mention at least half a dozen books on him.
Bowie is legend, he is God, no one in my personal opinion will EVER be able to best him in terms of musical artistry. |

My favorite song by Bowie is "Changes" because I spent my teenage years in the '80s and there are a couple of lines in that song that are quoted in the movie "the breakfast club", which was on of my favorites.
I also liked his version of "The Man Who Sold the World". Didn't he do the original version of that song? "Under Pressure" with Queen was good and I also liked the music he composed for the movie "Labyrinth". |

I'm going to see him in Toronto. His original show at the beginning of Dec was cancelled because he had the flu so now I have to wait until April 1st to catch him.
The only album I have of his is the Best Of album. I keep telling myself that one day I'll go to a used cd store and pick up any of his albums I can find.

I just saw Bowie in Cleveland about a month ago. He is absolutely incredible. He rocked out like he was 25 years old. He's created so much amazing music and had such an insane amount of influence on music and culture that I think that Ziggy Stardust should be required listening for anyone who thinks they know what good music is.
