Bands that I've never seen and wish I did!
I am 43 years old, have seen some great bands, but wish I'd seen:
AC/DC Led Zeppelin Allman Bros Band Supertramp Yes Jethro Tull Jimi Hendrix-that would've never happened 'cause he was dead before I was a fan- I could say the same about the Doors, so we'll leave dead people out! Alan Parsons Project- did they ever tour? Pink Floyd Oh man.... I just remembered, I saw the Who and didn't put them in the other thread. The Greatful Dead- I'm so bummed out I never saw them! Ronnie James Dio, Solo Talking Heads I'll think of more and add to this list. Just wanted to get it started! |
Pink Floyd, my dad has been to one of their shows I think.
Rage Against the Machine - never got to see them live.. however I did see Audioslave live earlier this year, so it kinda makes up for it. Fear Factory!!! This one really pisses me off. They came to my city to play but the venue they were playing at had a liquor license (in New Zealand the drinking age is 18) and I was 17 and a couple of months away from my 18th birthday but I couldn't get a ticket. And to add insult to injury they broke up a couple of months later. Drowning Pool - I don't particularly like their style of music, but I had an opportunity to see them at the Big Day Out music festival, but chose not too, thinking "meh, they would probably play the big day out again", and then their singer dies in their tourbus. Massive Attack- were coming to my city earlier this year, but the Scotland Yard pinned bogus child porn charges on the main guy, forcing them the cancel all the New Zealand shows (the charges were then dropped). |
The original line-up of The Misfits
Jawbox Kerosene 454 Joy Division The Who Sunny Day Real Estate Stone Roses Rites of Spring Operation Ivy ...this list could go on...and on... and on. :( |
Definatley wanted to see Led Zep, but they were long broken up by the time I started going to concerts. The same for The Who. I had a chance to see The Stones, and passed it up. The Ramones would have been another great one to have seen, and The Clash, any of the early punk bands.
|
Led Zeppelin, Faith No More, Dead Kennedys. I saw Roger Waters, but I would have liked to see Pink Floyd as a whole.
|
Alice in Chains - Probably my favorite band of all time. I heard they put on an incredible live show.
Zeppelin - No-brainer The Sex Pistols with Sid Vicious - That would have been interesting |
Nirvana - Not 'cause it was Kurt Cobain but because it was a time in music that when you said "fuck you" people listened. Now when you say "fuck you" people laugh and call you a rebel and you're Eminem or Fred Durst. It's all gone down hill.
Nine Inch Nails - It's fuckin' Trent Reznor ... you can't go wrong. The Cure - I've never been a huge fan but they always put on kick ass shows. But they stopped making music because they stopped making Robert Smith's favorite hairspray. How could they do that to the man? |

I think the one for me would be Queen sadly it will never be.
From the list mentioned I have seen AC/DC who topped an awesome line up of the Black Crowes; Motley Crue; Queensryche; and Metallica, that was back in 91' left me some great memories. |

Wasnt old enough for Sublime or Nirvana. Never got around to seeing Rage Against the Machine or the Smashing Pumpkins. Still yet to see NIN. |

I missed the Eagles reunion tour this summer, which would have been amazing. They are way out of my "time", but I still love their music. I really missed out on a great opportunity.
|
Because of where I live, live acts are few and far between.
I always wanted to see Yes (and they almost made it up to Alaska!) Rush is another band I need to see live, but I'll have to settle for my concert videos Steely Dan, a group I should of saw this summer. Hopfuly there will be a next time(!) |
Soundgarden
The biggest heartbreak of my high school years happened the day I heard that they had broken up. I was going to see them at Lollapalooza and I couldn't make it, and then they broke up soon afterwards! Anyway, other bands: Jawbox Castor Alice in Chains Failure Smashing Pumpkins Cocteau Twins Nirvana Braid and many others... |
