the CMA Awards are RIGGED!!!

I watched the Country music association awards last night and got really really mad!I think Johnny Cash is a very talented artist but, he won album of the year? there was only one damn song on the whole album IMO that was worth listening too! So why in the hell did he win that award? I think its because he died this year god rest his soul!!
He deserved the first 2 awards he won for the song "hurt" but Not for anything else. I really feel the country music association rigs those awards. I am still fumed today!! ther were alot of other albums, artist way more deserving!!
ON top of that Alan jackson won for entertainer of the Year! Not that I don't like him or his music, it is just that I think other artists in that catergory put themselves out there more and are way more deserving!!
Please tell me what did you think about them if you watched them etc.? Do you think they were rigged?

They aren't "rigged" in the sense that someone decides who they want to get it and that is it. It is widely known that they are as political as anything, with people with record company connections voting for their artists and doing "scratch your back and scratch mine" agreements with others.

Alan Jackson was deserving of the awards he got, but not as much as Toby Keith or Kenny Chesney, both of should've won.

American IV is by far one of the greatest, country or otherwise, albums of all time. It deserves every award and them some. Personally, I think Hurt isn't even the best song on the album. My favorite is "I Hung My Head." That is simply put one of Cash's greatest performances ever. Other favs include "When THe Man Comes Around," "Tear Stained Letter," and "Sam Hall." I phenomenal album by an equally phenomenal artist. I miss him already. I suggest you relisten to American IV and reexamine your impressions of the album because it doesn't get any better than this. IMHO.

I agree that the album is fantastic and deserves to win.

That said, this country is infatuated with dead people. When John Ritter died he suddenly became the best actor ever. Ritter was a company man, one act comedian whose only good work outside of Three's Company was Slingblade.

How dare you disparage his work on Problem Child 1 AND 2, Skindeep and Bride of Chucky, sir!!!!!!!

Before all the Ritter fans come up in arms, let me assure you I liked the guy. I thought he was stand up fellow with a few notable parts, but only in death does a mediocre actor become great.

Oh, by the way, Johnny Cash is The Man. There is nothing more to say.

first, just because somebody won that YOU don't think should have, doesn't mean the awards were rigged.

second (in my opinion) American IV is one of the greatest albums ever. to put it simply, it is one of 1-2 country albums in my 300+ cd collection. Johnny Cash is the only country artist that I can really enjoy.

they were simply paying tribute to one of the greatest singers of all time. Jonny Cash was an incredible entertainer, and deserves any awards given to him

Have you even listened to the whole album? Are you even a Johnny Cash fan?

If you answered no to either of these then how can you judge fairly?

Johnny Cash is one of THE GREATS of all time. And that's not just my opinion. However some people just don't like his style and delivery. Which is fine, but they shouldn't pass judgement on any of his albums. They should concede they don't like him and move on.

The main attraction of that show, for me, was the live performances. Really just about everyone did super shows!

That part of it should be emulated by every award show. It focused on the music as performed live! That kicked butt!
