How about Van Helsing's Curse?
/haven't heard it myself

Halx 10-22-2003 12:28 PM

You cannot leave out OINGO BOINGO!
They are classic Halloween party material!

It's a dead man's party, who could ask for more?

Moskie 10-22-2003 12:54 PM

Sorry to vague, but that "People are Strange, when you're a stranger" song, by What's-his-name :)

K-Wise 10-22-2003 01:53 PM

Jim Morrison......It's a Doors song....I can give it to you if you want it. Shame on you for not knowing that!

THE MISFITS!!!!!!!

nothing else needed.

Stare At The Sun 10-23-2003 02:41 PM

hmm, i guess it kinda depends on the type of party you are throwing. My kinda party, a dark, "scary" party would have this kind of music:
White Zombie- More human than human
Rob Zombie- Living dead girl, dragula (hot rod remix)
Slipknot- My plauge
Cannibal Corpse- Does it really matter what song you choose?
Seplutura- Roots
Ministry- Stigmata
Drowning pool- Bodies (i wouldnt use it, but *Shrugs* you could)
MDFMK- Witchhunt
Theme song from Jason, when hes stalking everone

Thats all for now

Hal Incandenza 10-23-2003 08:20 PM

I found this a few days ago:

Halloween Music

Other songs not mentioned there:

"Bela Lugosi's Dead," Bauhaus (pretty much the one song you absolutely must play)
"Heresy," Christian Death
"Halloween," the Shaggs
"I Drink Blood," Rocket from the Crypt
"Everyday is Halloween," Ministry
"Pet Sematary," the Ramones
"Halloween," Sonic Youth
"The Monster Mash," Bobby "Boris" Pickett and the Crypt-Kickers
"Werewolves of London," Warren Zevon (kind of a stretch, granted)
Last and possibly least: "Thriller," Michael Jackson

Jadey 10-23-2003 08:51 PM

Type O Negative - Black Number 1
Mike Oldfield - Tubular Bells
Holst - Mars, The Bringer of War (From "The Planets")
Rob Zombie - I'm Your Boogie Man (or KC & The Sunshine Band)
MArilyn Manson - The Beautiful People
Marilyn Manson -
The Coasters(?) - Love Potion #9
Ray Parker Jr - Ghostbusters
Marilyn Manson - Dope Hat

Spooky goth and industrial music is a must

Nefir 10-25-2003 01:09 PM

Check out the band called Oneiroid Psychosis.
http://www.nilaihah.com/oneiroidpsychosis.htm

They've got the whole spooky goth thing going on. It'll be perfect for Halloween!

I know *I'll* be playing this, thats for sure :D

glytch 10-25-2003 05:39 PM

To add to K-Wise's first post, I would definately recommend the original version of "I Put a Spell on You" by Screamin' Jay Hawkins. I like both versions, but Hawkins is sort of an acquired taste (although some might say Zepplin is as well). Anyway, take a listen to both versions, it's a great song.

K-Wise 10-25-2003 05:45 PM

You must show me Jay Hawkins original version man. You must...if you can that is. I must hear this.

Asta!!

glytch 10-25-2003 06:17 PM

Alright you'll have a PM in a few minutes.

On a side note, there was also versions of this done by Marilyn Manson, Ray Charles, Gov't Mule, Nina Simone, and Muddy Waters.

Sorry for the thread hijack!

split lickety 10-25-2003 10:51 PM

doesn't Screaming Jay perform that song in A Rage In Harlem?

aw what about manson's cover of the same song. more fitting dontcha think ;)

K-Wise 10-26-2003 12:33 AM

Never heard it but CCWR's version is pretty damn hard to beat....perfect blend a bad ass instrumentation especially the fuckin guitar of J.C. Fogerty and then ya got Dan's awesome fuckin voice making it raunchy as hell. Mad sexy too I'd love to get a strip tease to that version. If ya got a link to Mansons I'll peep it but I ain't gonna guarantee I'll like it better than Creedence....the original version is pretty cool (by cool I of course mean refreshingly crazy and raunchy as well :D) to since Glytch showed me the shit. Still got a vision in my head a puttin that song on and Gina Gershon or Tia Carrera throwing me their clothes and me crying tears of sweet sweet joy (drifts away)

Asta!!

anti fishstick 10-26-2003 01:11 AM

ah his is in the lost highway soundtrack.
thats all i know.
i was just pointing it out since manson is all freeky and halloweeny anyway :-D

i must hear the ccr version for sure!

The soundtrack for "Beetlejuice" by Danny Elfman, especially the opening credits. For that matter, just about any Elfman (I know Halx already suggested Oingo Boingo).

sweet shadows by daughter darling, down by ether lords of acid or gravity kills..not sure...
and out comes the evil by lords of acid

:)

high_jinx 10-11-2004 12:15 AM

if you want something pretty new the band is called tweaker and the album's called 2 a.m. wakeup call... it's composed by chris vrenna (formerly drummer of nine inch nails and the mind behind the music of Alice the video game) and its danny elfman kind of spooky rock w/ all kinds of guest vocalists. not all the songs would be perfect but about half of them would, esp. "sleepwalking away" and the instrumental ones.

ravenradiodj 10-21-2004 10:26 AM

Save yourself the worry and find a goth to DJ your party! Most of us would do it for the candy......;)
