New Artist (?) :Tycho

I was working all the night listening to Mike Milosh. As we maybe know he released only three albums so I opened my last.fm client to find some similar music. And you know what? I found Tycho! It is amazing idm project with nice clean and gentle sound.
And I'm still enjoying it.

I have known their music for a while. One of my favourite songs is "Dictaphone's Lament". Clean and gentle is a good description. But also electronic and mellow.

Edit: ^ That song is the one I mentioned

To be our soul and gesture it abroad,
Our hearts are incommunicable still.
In what we show ourselves we are ignored.
The abyss from soul to soul cannot be bridged
By any skill of thought or trick of seeming.
Unto our very selves we are abridged
When we would utter to our thought our being.
We are our dreams of ourselves, souls by gleams,
And each to each other dreams of others' dreams.

You guys should check out, if you don't know of them already, Tosca. Downtempo, trip-hoppish, dream-electronica goodness. Tosca is Rupert Huber and Richard Dorfmeister (of Kruder & Dorfmeister).

Title track from the album Suzuki:

Tycho is very good. My favorite songs are Lapse and Dream, but I listen to it all. You probably already know but Boards of Canada is another like-genre that is worth delving into.

Oooh, thank you for this. Reminds me of Boards of Canada, so this will be a welcome addition to my collection

This is a good addition to the downbeat chill-out relax stuff I've got already. Thanks.

Tycho is good. One of the better older-style IDM artists.
I dj mostly this kind of style of downbeat, and Tycho regular gets in the mix...

some of my other faves in this style are:
Proem (similar moods, but more heady)
Philippians (similarly uplifting, but much very pop/lyrical.. kinda like the Postal Service)
Kettel (tends to be more ambient, but absolutely one of the most beautiful artists of our time)
Kiln (same idm/downbeat style)
I Am Robot And Proud (cheesy like cheesecake, yum!)
Hermann & Kleine (real pretty, similar but more upbeat style)
Dntel (he's the producer for The Postal Service, but much more IDM style. brooding and pretty)
Deru (similar bass driven sexyness of Tycho)
Arovane (classic IDM at it's best)
Apparat (very similar style. very popular)
and of course Boards of Canada for something more ehtereal

If you're on SoulSeek, I am PulpMind and have all of these artists and more =)

If you like the Tycho and other artists in that genra, I would really suggest SoulSeek. Although it's good for all sorts of music, it started as a place for IDM and other independent artists to trade music. Highly highly highly suggest it =)
