Music played to death

Any songs that you used to like, but no longer can bring yourself ot listen and enjoy them because you've just heard it too many times, or the means in which they're played kill your enjoyment (eg like if it was played to advertise something you didn't agree with)

There was a show called popstars (like american or australian idol) that was on about 3 years ago or something. ONe of the songs the contestants could try to swoon the judges with was "tears in heaven" by Eric Clapton. I used to love that song although find that now i can't really enjoy it anymore.
damn shame.

Smells like teen spirit.

God I despise that song...despite the fact that it is actually pretty damn good.

Agreed, I used to love the song when it first came out. Now, I can't stand to hear it. It's been played to death.

Another one is "Under the Bridge" by The Red Hot Chilli Peppers. It's been beaten into the ground by every radio station out there.

Turn off your radio. I can play Smells like teen Spirit & Under the Bridge again.

They almost got Tool - Schism from me, those bastards, but I turned them off! ha ha ha!!

SOAD.

Was a huge fan of them when their S/T CD came out. Got the leak of Toxicity and went out and bought when it first came out, even travelled 800+ k's just to see them play live. Afterwards however all the radio/music channels thrashed their songs so many times I can hardly listen to them anymore :/

One of the great songs of my youth, Led Zep's Stairway to Heaven. It's turning my stomach just to write about it now.

Thanks for listening.

I've liked listening to the oldies station since I was little, but I swear they have a rotation of only 25-30 songs. I think it's worth waiting through the muck because it's all worth it when they play one of my favorites.

I can't turn off the radio in our office. I work on a local paper, and we have the local tinpot radio station on just in case they get a story before us. But their playlist has about 20 or 30 of that week's 'best' songs (ie the ones that are in the charts), along with a standard pile of oldies. Just like any other commercial station, really.

I swear they are trying to drive me insane, because you have to hear every shitty insult-to-decent-music pop song THREE TIMES A FUCKING DAY EVERY DAY!!!!

I want to go and firebomb the place.
