That was an easy google. It's The Killers - Somebody Told Me.

SinisterMotives 08-28-2004 07:46 AM

Now for a real challenge:

EDIT: Apparently it wasn't on the charts. It got quite a bit of airplay on a station I listened to though.

You got it backwards dude, it's "Cold" by the band Crossfade. Believe me, they've played in my town 2 times in the past 3 months and are playing again next month.

SinisterMotives, regarding Agnetha Fältskog, could it be "The Heat is on" from her LP "Wrap your arms around me"?

Could be. I downloaded the title track, but it doesn't ring a bell. I'll check it out. Thanks! :D

Mondak 09-07-2004 10:12 AM

I saw some video the other day when I was half asleep so I did not catch the name of the band or the song. It had what appeared to be a bunch of mimes the most prominant of which was playing the drums. The song had a very distinctive Piano (riff?) line in it that was repeated throughout and is very prominant.

I am pretty sure it was a female singer in it.

Sorry for the crappy desc. I know you all have done more with less though so that is why I ask. . .

This is an older post but I don't see where it's been answered.
But I think you might be talking about Climax Blues Band "I Love You."It starts out:
When I was younger, man, I hadn't a care
Fooling around, hitting the town, growing my hair
You came along and stole my heart, win (?) you into my life
Oooh babe, you got what it takes so I made you my wife.
Since then I never looked back, it's almost like living a dream
And oooh I love you.
Late on in the song he says the "oooh I want you" line.
It's an awesome song from 1980 or so, always one of my favorites.

What's that song in the iPod commercial that has all those people jumping around? It has really fast singing and...yeah. I don't even have any words from it. Sorry. Help.

Redlemon 09-09-2004 05:30 AM

Hmm, there were lots of iPod television ads. Is it current?

It could have been a high voiced man or something. I think there was snow on the ground and they were playing outside.

Any help here?

Yeah it's on all the time. Outlines of people dancing on color-changing backgrounds...it starts with a short guitar intro then this guy starts singing really quickly about something "and screamin'" (I think)...but yeah, it's a current commercial.

Dresden Dolls
Girl Anacronism

Great song very different. I had never heard of the band, but they are pretty good.

Used AdTunes.com forum to find this information, as usual. The ad company was Wieden and Kennedy, and according to someone's contact there:
Quote:

The piano track for this ad (someone previously mentioned) was done by a company called Elias Arts based in L.A. Apparently the composer is Jonathan Elias (the president of the company). I will put in a call to him and see if the track will ever be released commercially or otherwise.
Here's a link that should take you to the video.

SAM821 09-27-2004 06:07 PM

awsome! thanks!!! I will see if i can get it, or find more info on it too...

There's a new Nextel commercial out where there are 3 guys in an office, one with a boombox, and the other two dancing. It's an American 90's club style, and they keep saying: "ooh, baby baby." I can't get it out of my head. Please help if you can...

"Push It", by Salt-n-Pepa, from 1986. I didn't even have to hit AdTunes.com this time!

Grondar 10-03-2004 09:05 AM

I am looking for a song for a friend.

It's a Lenny Kravitz song and is played in one of the newer GAP commercials.

Does anyone know what the title of this song is?

Thanks!

There's some debate on this; there may be two different versions of the ad. It will be either "Are You Gonna Go My Way" or "Lady".

/haven't seen it

Coronaboy72 10-06-2004 05:08 PM

The one I keep seeing is using Lady, not a bad tune either.

Talo 10-06-2004 09:10 PM

This is a song on my x's bob marley tape I have been looking for.

All I remember about it is the chorus, there are several voices, some female, and although I don't know the exact lyrics it sounds similar to

"I need a llama, a llama, a llama, a llama, to calm me down"

I don't know if llama is the correct word , but it is definatly

"I need a _____ , a _____, a _____, a ____ , to ____ me down"

Appears to be "Hammer", off of the album "Songs Of Freedom":
Quote:

They just keep holdin' me,
A-won't let go;
Holdin' me;
Won't let go!

I need a hammer - a hammer - a hammer - a hammer
To hammer them down!
I need a rammer - a rammer - a rammer - a rammer
To ram them down!
Found via Google Search: lyrics bob marley "i need a"

high_jinx 10-14-2004 06:35 PM

i've heard those jamaican llama's are quite useful. i can understand him needing one so bad.

Jimellow 10-22-2004 11:15 AM

Here are some lyrics I from a song I heard on the radio and would like to know that artist and song title:

Quote:

Now again I find myself so far down
Away from the sun that shines the light away from me
It's a rock song, with a solo male vocalist.

I'd say it's slower tempo rock, and the lyrics in the quote above are sung much slower than they read.

Thanks!

Redlemon 10-22-2004 11:19 AM

Jimello - Heard of Google? It's the first hit on that search, and the next nine, at least. 3 Doors Down - Away From The Sun.

Sure, I've heard of Google, but using Google neglects the need for this thread.

That was the song, thanks!

any fans of really old folk music? I'm looking for the lyrics or information about a song called "Patches" I don't know who sang it or wrote it or anything...

Work it, boyfriends...

anleja 11-08-2004 08:48 AM

Is it an Alabama song? More country than folk, and probably not as old as "really old folk music." Hmm, good luck.

There is this hilarious video - I believe in Japanese... I would, if anyone is able to help me out with this, find out both the name and artist of the song that they are singing to.

Here
is the link to the video...

Secondly, there is a song that plays in 28 Days Later that I would like to know. It begins to play just as the charactors enter the grocery store and begin shopping.

Any help is much appreciated, thanks in advance!

Don't have a copy of the DVD to try to figure out which song it is, but here's a link to the soundtrack listing on IMDB.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0289043/soundtrack

Pretty sure it's not the Godspeed You Black Emperor song because that's playing when he's walking around alone in the city before he finds anyone else alive (and I don't think the song comes back up later in the movie).

grendel 11-18-2004 08:37 AM

the GYBE tune fits that part of the movie so well... one of my favorite parts of the movie.

i have the DVD, so i might have to give it a spin this weekend and see if i can answer the question. i can't think of the tune that plays there from memory.
