Best Debut Album

Was thinking about some of the best debut albums of all time and I really can't think of any that was better than Guns 'n Roses Appetite for Destruction.

What do you think is the best debut?

Here is a short list of good debuts:

Pearl Jam - 10
A Perfect Circle - Mer De Noms
Garth Brooks - Self Titled
Nine Inch Nails - Pretty Hate Machine

Hmm.. that is all I can think of right now.

I realize some of these are possibly record label debuts and not the very first thing that was ever produced by them. I am just going off of wide-spread commercial releases.

Okay also on my list of best debuts, Rush, Van Halen, Black Sabboth, AC/DC, Stone Temple Pilots, Rage Against the Machine, The Ramones. Those are the groups that had the most impact on me as for a debut album. Some of them were when I was very small, and didn't get into the music until I was older.

Van Morrison - Astral Weeks

Granted, he had recorded in a band previously, but this is technically his "debut". One of the best albums ever recorded.

While ágætis byrjun was a great album, it was actually their second album(the first being Von).

I gotta go with A Perfect Circle - Mer De Noms, though the Counting Crows and Pearl Jam are good choices too.

Metallica - Kill 'Em All. IMHO... That album basically started the huge trend in thrash metal.

I'll have to agree with GnR's Appetite for Destruction.
Unfortunately, their appetites destroyed the band.

quite a strong start for a group that rivaled the Beatles for sales and that has produced over 200 albums over the years.

Someone mentioned Evanescence but Fallen wasn't their debut album, They had an album called "Origin" come out prior and it is also awesome. It's hard to get now.
