SNAPCASE
Of all the bands that I really really really like, Snapcase is really the only one that I've never found anyone else who listens to them. I find that kind of odd, as they were the flagship band for Victory Records for a while till they signed all these shitty pop-punk acts...
What I'm wondering is is there anyone else here who likes them? If so, what's your favorite album by them? Favorite track? For me, personally, my favorite album is Designs for Automotion, but End Transmission is pretty much the most artistically sound album of theirs. My favorite song by them is DEFINETLY Typecast Modulator... that song gets me fired up like NOTHING. I also like Harrison Bergeron, Disconnector, Blemish, Interrogation, Coagulate, Aperture, Caboose, and First Word a whole damn lot too. Not to mention all of their other songs. For a description of Snapcase... they're essentially a post-hardcore band... they have their roots in NYC hardcore but since they started recording their sound has mellowed out a bit. Notice I said "a bit." It still has all the fire and inspiration of their original hardcore sound, but without all the noise. Their lyrics are some of the most intelligent I've ever heard for anything out of the same genre. They can't really be compared to any other artist, as they have a very unique sound, mostly due to their lead singer's (Daryl Taberski) distinctive voice. So if you haven't ever heard them, be sure to give them a listen, and if you have, please share here!

Yeah Snapcase is definately a good band. They just have a lot of energy. The first time I saw them (after they released Progression Through Unlearning) was incredible. I'll never forget how pumped everyone (esp. the band) was when they opened with Caboose.
What really got me into them though was the Enhanced CD portion of PTU where they talk about their lyrics, etc. and there were clips of them live. I just saw them on their last tour, and they definately have chilled out a little bit. I've gotten my girlfriend into them. Besides that I don't really know anyone around here who's into them. |
