The Dead
Anybody catch any of their shows this year? I saw a few and had a great time...I never hear people talking about the Dead on this board, I'm just curious. I don't care if you think they suck either...I don't disrespect your opinions, please don't disrespect mine, thanks

Let me rephrase...I'm talkin' about the Grateful Dead.
Snoogans, it's grateful dead music, they are in a category all their own. Punk rockers would call it hippie shit. Markaz...any of their songs are great...my first album was "Mars Hotel"...check out www.gdlive.com ...there you can download whole shows or just tracks from any given show. They promote tape trading so you don't have to worry about having henchmen come to your place and do whatever...check em out.

They sound just like my Uncle Johns Band. His wife Rosemary and friend Casey Jones used to go Truckin down The Golden Road to Unlimited Devotion just singin the Mexicali Blues. Then again, that was just One More Saturday Night
Man, miss those days I was a Friend of The Devil...

I miss Jerry each and every day. I know they are touring again and I've got to remember to buy some tickets today.
For me life is good when the Dead are playing, the sun is shining...

This post is hilarious to read. To the question, yes, I've caught 4 Dead shows recently. Most recently in San Diego. Awesome show. Obviously not the same as the The Grateful Dead, but has a character all it's own while keeping the familiarity of old. Also, I see a lot of familar faces again. Lot's of new, young faces this time round too. Glad for that. To anyone that is not familar with The Grateful Dead's music, there is so much of it out there, either commercially produced, bootlegged, tapers stuff. I urge you to give it a try. Download some of the songs and just let your mind go. Don't listen too hard for perfection, you won't find it. Find the beat, the melody and the groove. Let your body dance.

I havent seen the Dead (or whatever they call themselves now) but I saw rat dog a couple times a little while back and I have a couple phil and friends cd's. I liked ratdog cause they still kept the old sound but Bob Weir is an asshole. So, who is in the dead?
