The new look really doesn't sit well with me. There was some really great stuff in Pieces of You, and it was refreshing to see a female artist who believed she could sell albums without selling her soul. Looks like she's changed her mind.

Guys, she isn't serious about it. She's referenced it in her interviews as her "Hip Hop/Pop" album. Don't expect her to follow up on this one. She needed a break from her more serious tones, and this is a good way of showing that she has more depth. More depth as shallow as this last one Anyway, I'm still waiting for her country album that she talked about 4 years ago.

The look was also a bit of an overnight change.
She's always been hot, but the sudden transformation of her music also meant that she had to change her appearance. She had to go from the coffee-shop acoustic guitar player to the bubble-gum pop star That being said, I approve of her new image. The sight of her getting doused with the fire house at the end of her new video certainly puts a smile on my face. |

My thought on the look was this.
1st, pure granola, no real focus on sex. 2nd, well dressed, west coast style, nice focus on sex. 3rd, brittney/christina/madonna, clear focus on sex. And, there may have been several subphases I missed. The music went from AAA leaning AC to AC to Hot CHR. The last jump was a train wreck for me. Thanks for listening. |

I have both of her first albums, plus her poetry book (I don't really like most of it though) She went from elequant (spelling?) to trashy, I refuse to buy a CD with the theme song for a WOMAN'S RAZOR on it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
(starts lining up candels around the old "Pieces of you" album.. vigils are a great way to remember the dead" BUT! GD, I wanted to play in that water with her... |
