I come and stand at every door. But no one hears my silent tread. I knock and yet remain unseen. For I am dead, for I am dead.I'm only seven although I died. In Hiroshima long ago. I'm seven now as I was then. When children die they do not grow.My hair was scorched by swirling flame. My eyes grew dim, my eyes grew blind. Death came and turned my bones to dust. And that was scattered by the wind.I need no fruit, I need no rice. I need no sweet, nor even bread. I ask for nothing for myself. For I am dead, for I am dead. All that I ask is that for peace. You fight today, you fight today. So that the children of this world. May live and grow and laugh and play.

I've said it a trillion times, and I'll say it again:

-Glassjaw (melodic hardcore/screamo)

-The Apex Theory (versatile hardish rock)

-Lostprophets (screamo/"nu-metal"ish... but better than typical nu-metal)

-Snapcase (Incredibly intelligent melodic hardcore)

-Hot Water Music (Lively post-grunge)

Anthrax and Motörhead. Both seem to do okay, but they don't get the credit they deserve.

True 'dat.

I also think that Iron Maiden aren't recognized as much as they'd ought to be, in the States at least.

OH LOOK!!! JUST ONE BAND.

anyway, now that that is out of my system, I'm a big fan of Fleming and John. She does all the vocals, he plays... well all the instruments. Literally. On the album "The Way We Were", he is credited as playing all the instruments.

Here's a few from me:

1. Thrice - they are getting huge now but they're new CD is fucking sick
2. Killswitch Engage - kind of like Pantera
3. Poison the Well - hardcore with periodic melodic interludes
4. Disco Biscuits - I can't describe these guys but they kind of like Phish, with a real "groovy" sound

Hell yeah! high five! Opeth are an amazing group of musicians. I have been playing guitar for 5 years now and can only dream of ever approaching these guys in pure talent.
Either them, or Lamb Of God.

Really? They are quite popular over here. Every wanna-be goth just screams their music everywhere...gets annoying, no offense.

As for me, I'd like Broken Social Scene to be better recognized. Great Canadian(never thought music could come from there ) stuff.

Right now, its the New Pornographers (I'd say they are pop-rock, not mainstream tho)

Honorable mention: Sigur Ros (for something completely different. Hear them in the Vanilla Sky soundtrack or in one of their two albums)
They make some of the most powerful music, but it ain't for everybody.

Technically, I picked one band...

Later it might be something else. That's whats so great about music. Times change and so do my tastes.

Not that they're a particularly amazing band right now, but I think RA might have the potential to be a very good band if they become more reknowned.
