dunno if anyone mentioned this yet..but Big Wreck was/is an awesome band. they had a few popular singles in Canada like..three-four years ago. Ladylike, The Oaf, That Song...forget the rest. check out their two albums, they're awesome.

Being a huge post-rock freak, I think people need to listen to more Season and The Evpatoria Report (if you like Explosions in the Sky and Godspeed You! Black Emperor, you NEED to listen to these). They both have entire EPs available for free download on their site so there's no reason not to try.

Being a huge metal-head, I think people need to listen to more Psycroptic and Gorod. These bands play insane technical death metal, but the songs are actually catchy.

Capt Soularcat - Southern funk band out of Atlanta I heard in middle of nowhere GA.

Bionic Jive - I hate hip-hop/ rock fusion bands with a passion. This is the one exception

The Roots - The best of hip-hop and jazz with a touch of rock guitar.
