The Random Mp3
Here's an interesting game to play. Go to your Mp3 playlist, set it on random, Hit next and then Tell what song was chosen, why you like it or any memories or experiences connected with the song.
For instance, I hit Random on My Winamp playlist and I get.. Gorrilaz - Starshine. I downloaded this song when I was trying to find out whether I wanted to actually spend money on the Gorrilaz CD. It's got a nice Bass backround to it, and overall nice to listen to when trying to get to sleep at night. |
Fountains of Wayne - Baby, One More Time
Fantastic cover of Britney Spears first hit. Equal parts hilarious and just good. A la Cake's cover of "I Will Survive" |
Shadows Fall- Stepping Outside the Circle
haha, I don't even know why i have this song, i dont even like metal much. Nice riffs/soloing tho. |
Dead Kennedy's - Hop With the Jet Set
DK was my first experience with punk music when I was a little skater punk. I guess I was about 13 or 14. |
Queens of The Stone Age - Do it Again
This is a band that has definitley grown over the years. Plus, with the help of Dave Grohl made an amazing album. |
Burnt by the Sun - "When Corporations Rule your Mom"
|
Jurrassic 5 - Whats Golden
|
Cake - Commissioning a Symphony in C
|
Evanescence - Whisper 2002
|
Monty Python - Every Sperm is Sacred
|
Ben Folds - Fred Jones, Pt. 2.
Beautiful song by one of the most talented musicians arounds. |
Maroon 5 - Harder to Breathe
(doesn't the volume go up any further? damn...) |
Melt-Banana - Iguana in Trouble
This is a Japanese post-punk band. They remind me of a Japanese version of the Yeah-Yeah-Yeahs. They also have a musical Saw in some of their songs. |
Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth
|
Stevie Wonder: Sir Duke
|
Luti-kriss - Catharsis
(no, not Ludacris, Luti-kriss, Norma Jean's name before they changed it to Norma Jean. And by Norma Jean, I mean the hardcore band, not the disco singer.) |
Anthrax - Room for One More
|
God Save the Queen - The Sex Pistols
Reminds me of when I discovered punk music in the 80's. I went crazy for this album, "Never Mind the Bollocks Here's The Sex Pistols." Drove my parents crazy. |
a-ha - Stay on these roads
|
Manfred Mann's Earth Band - For You
(they were in serious danger of becoming a Springsteen cover band for a while there) |
Thursday - Concealer
Possibly the best song by this band. |
Blondie- Heart of Glass
Oh my god, Debbie Harry back in the day is FIIIIIIIIIIIINE, nuff said. |
Blues Traveler - Crash Burn
|
Bad Company--Dangerous Age
|
Celebration of the Lizard - The Doors
No real memories, this is only the third time I've actually heard the song. I love Jim's little speech at the beginning. He sounds like such a hippy, even though he wasn't really a hippy. It's an interesting song, to say the least. |
Liquid Tension Experiment- Biaxident
|
Charles Mingus - Hatian Fight Song
I remember hearing it in a friend of mine's car, and promptly downloading it when I got home. Great bass and enough changes to keep it interesting the whole 12 minutes. |
deftones - be quiet and drive (acoustic)
i donloaded this song trying to find the music in high places performances and iwas having alot of problems and i started crying when i heard chion's voice... such agony... i broke down |
Joe Cocker - She Came In Through The Bathroom Window
Just a fun song. |
It takes two by Rob Base and DJ Ez Rock.
makes me think of being younger and into hip hop. I really have no ideas why I have in my MP3s tho. |
supertramp - babaji.
my mother's a huge supertramp fan, and all through my childhood it was one of the albums she'd play for background music while cleaning or something. and took a boat sunday is my parents' song. anyway, babaji... i love the piano. so much. |
Ratt - Body Talk
|
"Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence"
|
The Kinks - Lola
|
Train - Swaying
Trains songs before Drops of Jupiter were just 10x better than their new stuff. Tho I still like their new stuff. |
PLaying "Remember Me?" with Eminem and others from the 2000 album.
I ripped this CD some months back so it is in APE rather than FLAC format. |
Finger Eleven - Thin Spirits... I remember going down at like 3 am when I had to get up at 8 in the morning because I couldn't sleep and felt like a cigarette and some Finger Eleven...
Thank god I don't smoke any more.... I sleep much better now. :) |
The Fags - Ms. Take
Also Mistake, whatever you prefer (though officially it's Ms. Take). "Things just haven't been the same since she's been gone, I try to do what's right but what's left keeps egging me, and it'll end up on my face, but that's the risk that I'll take, I just feel like we're making a big mistake" ah, sadness... |
B-52's Revolution Earth
ahh the days of cheap college beer.....nothing could beat the music and general social scene of Athens, GA in the early 80s... |
Mr Bungle-Squeeze me macaroni
|
