Jurassic 5
Have you heard of these guys? I bought their latest album and it rocks. Its rap/hip-hop and they seem to be less 'poserish' than many other rap artists. i was wondering what their first album was like, any comments are welcome.

I don't like much rap, but I love Jurassic 5. As you say, they are real. If you want to hear a sweet medley of their second album, check out this . It's a radio show they did.
Their first album was alright, although Power in Numbers is better. One of the best tracks off the first album is Quality Control, you should download it if you can. |

j5 rules. they bascially appeal to all types of music lovers. their live show, i've heard, is really good. i saw part of it on mtv's $2bill concert. i can't wait for chali 2na to drop his solo album.

Ive been into J5 for a while now & I gotta say theyre different to that poserish "bling bling" bullshit.
They use samples alot & they got 5 Mc's (hence the name!) I specially like the guy with the really deep voice. Much respect to Jurassic 5 for something different. |
I love J5, been listening to their stuff for the last few years, but have yet to see them live. The new CD is starting to grow on me a little more, but I think I still like the previous CD a little better. Fans of J5 should check out Black Eyed Peas, a lot of their older stuff is pretty similar to J5.

J5 is quality.
I liked their Quality Control album, as it was the first I heard. I also later found out that they performed the song played in that Sprite commercial with the "gangsters" riding the bikes. Pretty funny. :) |
Just to nit-pick, J5 actually only has 3 MC's. The other 2 guys spin records.

I have their latest CD. I'm not a big fan of Hip-hop/rap, but this is one of my top favorite music groups.
They are awesome performers and their DJ's are really good. I like also, The Roots :D |

I met a couple of them and one of their dj's at a little club/rave thing once. Real nice guys and mad skillz. they got the flow and they use it to say something. It doesnt get much better than that

Does anyone know the name of the song in that video music that someone had up on tfp 3.0 of J5's? It was funny as hell but can't remember the name of the song.
