When Good Songs Go Bad

Why? Just fucking why?

Now if someone finds a vid of Barbra Streisand doing "Shattered" My brains may really be splattered all over Manhattan... Shadobbie.

Aaah, I SOOOO thought this was a thread about how "Goodbye Horses" became associated with flesh-wearing serial killers.

Brain bleach, please.

Does anyone remember Avril Lavigne covering "Chop Suey?"

Not that it was a good song in the first place, but man... Such a bad cover.

Ugh who was the girl singing with Celine? Nice stomach but what a horrible singer. I want the last 4 minutes of my life back.

Wow I wonder if that Teen Spirit version was a joke, that was horrible!

Martian 06-21-2009 07:55 PM

She's Anastacia. Big in Europe and Latin America.

well I was TRYING to forget it ;)

probably the worst cover I've ever heard.. a close second is Brittney covering "Knocking On Heaven's Door"..

I assume you mean Spears?

My life was much more enjoyable without knowing she covered this song.

Ignorance is bliss sometimes. I can think fondly way back to 5 minutes ago before I opened this thread.

Won't be making that mistake again...

Wyodiver33 06-22-2009 11:54 AM

I made it about 49 seconds into the Tori Amos song. I like her a lot, but that was just bad and unnecessary. Ugh.

Plan9 06-22-2009 11:56 AM

Ya know, this thread may the musical equiv to waterboarding. It's just inhumane.

I'm gonna have a hard time listening to some of the originals songs. Serious damage.

Subjecting normal people to their favorite music as done by the worst artist possible.

I have it on my iPod. I appreciate a complete reversal of mood in songs.

I'll add another for you guys:

Baraka_Guru 06-23-2009 07:09 AM

I'll see your Gina Gordon "Straight Outta Crompton," and I'll raise you a Michael Jackson "Come Together":

(No, this isn't fake.)

Plan9 06-23-2009 10:38 AM

Did you just say Crompton?

Baraka_Guru 06-23-2009 10:43 AM

Oh, shit. That's awesome!

We need to make a music video.

what more embarrassing about the celine dion song was her playing the air guitar.

thats just morally wrong.

47 secs for the tori amos song...arghh.. this shit should be illegal

Willravel 06-23-2009 11:27 AM

I'd be interested to see Celine Dion cover "What is and What Never Should Be" by Led Zeppelin or Michael McDonald cover Pantera's "Cemetery Gates".

vanblah 06-23-2009 11:41 AM

Hard to say that these are bad really because you have to wonder if a) she knows what it sounds like and doesn't care, b) she doesn't know and really is putting her heart and soul into it or c) it's all an elaborate Kaufmanesque joke ... but just check out ANY of the covers by internet phenomenon Wing:

WSample tracks from Wing's CDs Wing Music discography, CD sales, bio, events guide, news
