Mine lately has been some Beatles. Hey Jude usually makes me feel better than others, but there are so many good tracks from them obviously enough. I'll Be Here Awhile is another one by 311 that picks me up from a downer.

3AM by Matchbox 20 used to do it for me; now I can't really think of what songs I listen to on a bad day. I don't have that many of them to really need to listen to a song I guess.

Toronto has made my affinity for being bi-polar worse so this is an interesting question; subways without music makes Taylor something something.
Here are a few I actually play to pick me up. This Is Not A Test - She And Him Florida - Modest Mouse Head Over Heals - Tears For Fears M79 - Vampie Weekend Anything by The Strokes The Fever - The Von Bondies Shoulders and Arms - Tokyo Police Club Ares - Bloc Party Anything from Of Montreal's last two albums (especially Hissing Fauna) Dancing Choose - TV on The Radio The World We Live In - The Killers (Only a sometimes song) My number one pick up song has to be "Music And The Mirror" from A Chorus Line. Yes, A Chorus Line. The orchestration is so fucking sick; and the melody is incredibly. Fucking incendiary.

If I need to be cheered up because I am angry: "Crazybitch" by Buck Cherry.
If I need to be cheered up because I am sad: "No Envy, No Fear" by Joshua Radin. And finally if I need to be cheered up because I am just down for no good reason: "Lesson Learned" by Ray Lamontagne.

Girl troubles= Lucero. They have lots of bitter southern rock tunes to get over a girl with.
Just plain pissed at the world= Minor Threat. I feel like I can channel my aggression through theirs....
