Help Please =]
Alright...so my boyfriend and I have an anniversary coming up and he just bought me a guitar for my birthday. I really don't want to tell him that I have no talent and make him feel bad because I've been wanting a guitar for forever.
So here's my problem: I need to find a simple song with a few chords that I should be able to learn. =/ |

Don't be so hard on yourself. It's my belief that talent is really just 90% hard work; the rest comes from a passion for the art.
Easy songs --- the easiest song to play on a guiter ever (ev-er!) is Free Fallin' by Tom Petty. It consists of either two or three chords, depending on how you count. The first is D Maj: 2 3 2 x x x Then D Sus: 3 3 2 x x x And finally A Maj: 0 2 2 2 0 x Play the D, then D Sus, then do it in reverse, and then go to the A. Repeat that for the whole song. You can listen to the recording to get the strumming right, but Tom capos it on third fret, which puts the song in F Maj instead of D Maj. If you want to play it in the same key as the recorded version without using a capo, you can do so by using F and C Maj instead. The chord voicings will be different, but you'll be in the right key. F Maj: 1 1 2 3 x x F Sus: 1 1 3 3 x x C Maj: 0 1 0 2 3 x You might also look here for more ideas.
