Ever been a fan of a band that broke up after just a short while? Someone with real talent that was gone before their time, so to speak?

I had a knack for picking bands like this when I was younger, and I wonder if anyone else has run into this problem.

Is 10 years a short time? I loved Perfect Thyroid, which was ska/funk. They had 4 people in the band who could sing well, a great horn section, a drummer who was all over the beat, and the lead singer had a great smooth baritone voice.
