THE WHITE STRIPES: Concert
OK, I don't know if anyone really cares or not, but I'm posting it anyway.
If you, in any way, enjoy listening to The White Stripes, you must see them in concert. I got back from their concert a couple hours ago and they completely blew me away. Now, I didn't know what to expect (although I was sure it'd be good), but they seriously just put on a great show. It's not just the music (well it is, but...), they have such an amazing stage pressence. Their music isn't hard by any means (although a few people tried to mosh, with no luck), but you can't help but jump. It becomes so much more intense when you're standing less than 10 feet away from Jack and Meg White. I've been to a few concerts, not many, but I've seen some great bands (Stone Temple Pilots...), and I have to say the The White Stripes put on the best show. I definitely got my $32 out of that. I have all four CD's, but Jack went on an incredible guitar solo that I had never heard before. The climax of his solo being one of his strings breaking. Check out when their shows are, and if they're near and you're slightly interested, just do yourself a favor and go. P.S. The opening band (Whirlwind Heat) would be so much better if they dropped that damned synthesizer. |

I'm seeing them in Chicago on July 1st. I can't wait. I've got some bootlegs and it's really amazing.

I love the White Stripes but theres no way I'm going to an arena to see 2 people on stage.
Smokey Bar: Definitly Small hall: sure Ampitheater:.... mmm... maybe I hate huge venues and some bands just shouldn't play large venues. Oh and my 15 dollar rules. If a show costs more than the CD... I'm buying the CD and closing my eyes.

well GSRIDER the hard rock (orlando) is a very small place.
there was 2 people in front of me keeping me from the front row (the rail) and it was a very cool concert the part when Jack put his thumb in his mouth and started playing with 1 hand, that was awesome!

I saw 'em last night at the Verizon (nee Aerial) Theatre in Houston. Fantastic show. Jack actually stopped playing and singing when some assholes started crowd surfing and crushing people in the front row, said "I'll wait till this is over," and then yelled something at the surfers. Meg's one handed drumming was phenomenal and Jack is such a fucking good player. There is more truth in his playing than in anything by any modern "blues" guitarists.
Whirlwind Heat was interesting, but not something I'd purchase. The synth is not necessary. |

Yep, she sang "In The Cold, Cold Night" and backed Jack on "Rated X". "ITCCN" got a rousing applause before she started singing. People were screaming out that they loved Meg, and at one point, Jack asked the crowd "What's that about loving my sister?" and the crowd exploded. He went further and asked "And you all feel this way?" and it exploded again. Kind of funny.
