The "If you like ____ , then try ____" thread.

Let's try something new. I'm always looking for new music for the iPod, but I'm pretty picky and knowing where to look is tough. What I propose is to post a well known group, and then post another group with similar qualities to give a listen to. Heck, we can even do it with just songs, as there are a lot of crossovers in genres. The point is to make the connections so that we can start expanding what we listen to.

So, for example(s)

If you're into Iron Maiden, then you might give Bruce Dickinson's solo stuff a try.

If you like Pink Floyd's "High Hopes", then give Deep Purple's "Wasted Sunsets" a try.

If you like Buddy Guy's "Baby please don't leave me", then give Ray Wylie Hubbard's "Snake Farm" a spin.

If you like Luther Allison's "Cherry Red Wine", then try Tinsley Ellis' "The Last Song" a shot.

If you like The Smithereen's "Behind the Wall of Sleep" then try out Jukebox Zeroes' "Don't Tell Me (More than I wanna know)"

What else you guys got?

If you like metal, try crunk. Sure, it's rap, but it's the same energetic, "fuck you" attitude.

If you like old Talking Heads or old Oingo Boingo, you should go right to the source and check out Fela Kuti.

If you like Savage Republic you should listen to San Kasigascar
