God....I'm so sorry! I have been away longer than I thought!

I'm not really a country music fan, but I saw this one in the newspaper today"
Keith Urban was a session musician before he went solo, name two artists that he was a session musician for.

Well folks....I'm going to give the answer and let someone else start a new question.
The answer was Garth Brooks and the Dixie Chicks.

I'm trying to get this thread going again, but I'm not going to ask a question since I will be working out of town for the next 7 weeks. I will have limited internet access, but hopefully will check in from time to time.

Alright, I'm home for the weekend and it looks like nobody wants to shoot out a trivia question, so here goes:
Eric Clapton added what guitar player to Derek and the Dominoes after seeing his band in concert?

I'd love to hear that too Tophat!!! I'll give you all a hint: He was killed in a motorcycle accident, but his band is still playing today.

I must've known this at one time, and I keep thinking Allman Brothers when I see this thread. Just not sure if it was Gregg or Duane. I know Tophat knows this.

Don't think Gregg was ever with them, so must be Duane... if you're right.

Absolutely Duane. Ran into a truck full of peaches. Hence "Eat a Peach". Terrible.

Well folks, don't know how to do this, but I think Mr. Tully Mars is the one who said must've been Duane. It was and is now your turn! Eric was so mesmerized by Duane's playing that he asked him to join the band.

Aw jeez, Tull. Alright then ...

Name the four bands Steve Winwood played/sang with before his solo career. Bonus question: Which Hendrix album did he participate in?

MM gets the first two.

No one will know? You know this! You can get three, for sure. When you think of Steve Winwood, where do you remember him from?

HINT: Spoiler: Three men made a solemn vow.

Let's give it another day.

Jeesh, TH. At least you remembered Traffic. The fourth was a little jazz fusion band called
Go Go
.

MM gets the win, though.

You were first with two out of four. TH only added the one you forgot.

EDIT: I just realized you added only one after ThirdSun's post, so each of y'all got one. I guess it should be his, then?

And the bonus answer was Voodo Chile on Electric Ladyland.

Ok, I will post one and MM can post one if she wants as well.

Name the 3 guitarists and the English rock band they were in together: This band was notable for starting their careers, all of whom were in the top fifteen of Rolling Stones' 100 Top Guitarists list. The band's sound evolved into early experimental rock, and proved to be a crucial link between British R&B and psychedelic rock.

This band were pioneers in almost every guitar innovation of the '60s: fuzz tone, feedback, distortion, backwards echo, improved amplification, etc. They were also one of the first rock bands to put an emphasis on complex lead guitar parts and experimentation.

Derwood is right. It's the Yardbirds. Perhaps that was too easy?

I thought Jeff Beck might be lesser known.

okay, my question:

We know that Lynyrd Skynyrd wrote "Sweet Home Alabama" as a response to Neil Young's "Southern Man", but what song did Warren Zevon write as a response to this feud?

Almost said "Accidentally Like a Martyr" until I got the lyrics going in my head right.

Ok, what classic rock song was inspired by a Texas bordello that was also the subject of the musical The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas?

The Grateful Dead went through Keyboardists like Spinal Tap went through Drummers. Name the Grateful Dead's first Keyboardist. The Nickname will do, but extra points for the actual name.
