AV Receivers!
I have a feeling i've asked this before on a forum... oh well!
So I got some speakers a few years back and I haven't had the chance to use them since my then receiver was broken and not worth fixing up. Since then, I wasn't able to save enough $ for a new one till now. So I'm here asking anyone who has any info or has a GREAT Receiver to tell me what I should get. MY specs are easy enough: -i only have 2 speakers right now. i will get a sub and atleast 3 more soon. 2 front and 1 center. i'll use my current as the back to make a 5.1. but I still want 7.1 for the future if possible. -I need a receiver to last me a while and not crap out like the rest of today's electronics! my last one was actually my dad's Harmen Kardon from the 70s. lasted at least 20yrs. -Since It should last me a few years(10 or more), I'll probably need it to be HD. I also need much more than 1 input. I have 1 TV, 1 vcr, 1 dvd player, 1 cd player, 1 computer, and 1 ps2 with the possibility of another system like a wii or a ps3 in the future. sounds easy enough right? and I also want to keep the cost under or near 1000$ After a quick visit to futureshop's store for fun, the dude tried to sell me a Pioneer at 1099.99 or an HK at 899.99. both were pretty nice. When I purchased my speakers, the dude at my local store(professional sounds) recommended a Denon system but I think those are fucking over priced for me right now! edit: I also want to point out that this will MOSTLY be for watching awesome movies in 5.1 or listening to my tunes. no tv really or nothing like connecting an IPod to it. no satellite radios either.

well after a few store, i finaly went back to my town's best audio store and the guy explained a few dif model. from yamaha to pioneer. he said the denon were out as far as my price range went. so I'm probably gonna go with the 90txv Pioneer Elite. http://www.pioneerelectronics.ca/pna...etailComponent
it's in my price range and it def has all the features i need. now i just have to figure out where to place it in my place. near the tv or near the computer... hmm.
