Avril and "Knocking on Heaven's Door"
I was watching MuchMusic (canadian equivalent of MTV) and saw a music video of avril lavigne's new cover of knocking on heaven's door. Personally i thought it was kind of hack. The video was touching, showing footage of children and civilians invovled in war but her singing was well, less then desirable. Anyone else see this, and if so, thoughts?

I don't think it's cool, it's fine that someone would cover Led Zep, but to make money off it is ridiculous. Especially her.

I'm so sick of this girl. Her "original" music sucks so why would she do any covers at all? All she does is murder them. Her chop suey cover made me want to kill myself it was so bad. I haven't heard Knockin' On Heaven's Door and hopefully I never will.

Jeff, Hunter is correct, it is Bob Dylan. Are you thinking of Stairway to Heaven? I haven't seen or heard Avril's rendition, but it has to top Guns n Roses hack job. Bob musta hurled when he heard that asshole Axl singing his song. The best thing Slash coulda done is get rid of that dickhead!

Ahhh! Yes, I must have been really tired, thanks Hunter and perripken. Either way, Dylan or Zeppelin, you shouldn't mess with greatness. That's like Carrot Top doing Bill Hicks act on stage. Or a 4 year old redoing Picasso.

Avril friggin covered "Knockin' on Heaven's Door"? If I had a gun with me this second I'd shoot myself. I don't think I want to live in a world where a great Dylan song gets "interpreted" by... Avril Whats-her-face. I guess it's only a cover and not the first crappy cover...but man...why Dylan!? Couldn't she have covered anybody else?
