Metallica Reloaded
http://abclocal.go.com/wpvi/news/612...metallica.html
What the fuck do they think they are doing??? I fucking hate these guys even more than I did before now because of this shit. What about John Denver - His family should sue Metallica for everything they are worth for this. This is incredible how stupid these dudes really are, do they really think if I wanted their new album I couldn't get it for free. They really need to face reality with this - I'll support bands I like - but them pulling shit like this is just ignorant. I am not going to dl the album cause I dont' like them in the first place. But its now almost worth it just in spite. |

Nah, they just hate metallica
![]() I agree, what pussies. Any artists with a bit of sense are embracing, or at least taking the digital revolution in their stride. In the end, it will all work out better for artists if the music giants fall.

Seems that Metallica HAS taken the digital revolution by stride. I don't toally agree with how they've handled Napster and the like, but this time 'round they kinda used the net as a tool. Metallica had a special number in St.Anger to access the stuff on this site. They also had a hunt for the videos from the dvd that streamed off a ton of sites that hid the link.

Okay....
So instead of making millions and millions of dollars because of file downloading, they're only making millions of dollars. Hard to conjure up sympathy for a music industry that shits all over consumers by releasing 8-9 tracks of BS (with maybe one good track) and charges consumers $18-$19 for the privilege. But this isn't anything new. They've been doing it for years. Personally, I would rather listen to 4 hours of John Denver than five minutes of Metallica's new album. So there.

Want to help make a difference? Speak with your money. Don't buy it. Better yet, don't download it either. Go to a few local clubs, find some good local bands and start requesting thier tunes on your local radio stations. I haven't bought an RIAA approved disc in a few years and don't really intend to either. Just downloading the album and bitching about Metallica's politics just makes their case stronger. Giving them the finger and not listening to their stuff anymore helps the little guys.
If I don't buy it, and you don't buy it, and that guy over their doesn't... All of a sudden, there are 10 million albums rotting in warehouses. RIAA will notice then. That said, the new Metallica album is possibly the first album I want to buy since I started my personal boycott... 1 album, 1 dvd with a bunch of studio recordings, and about 7 hours of bootleg concert videos for $15? That's not a bad deal at all... |

I'll say first off that I'm a huge Metallica fan...been one for a long time and used to trade tapes, etc. back in the day. I have no problem with them or any other artist looking to make money and protect their songs, pictures, words, etc. I would hate to pour my soul into something and then have people take advantage of technology that makes it too easy [compared to the old trading days] to get it for free...would you do your job [no matter how cool or not a real job it is] for nothing?

what i love is this...when people download versions of the St. Anger tracks...they need to know this.
The quality is going to suck ass Its not pulling seperate files, its reading the music from ONE file. If you do not believe me, put the cd in a computer. Also If you hate metallica so much, stop bitching about them and ignore...you people are just bringing MORE attention to them when THEY don't give a fuck about anyone. HELLLOOOOOO They've always hated record companies, they have stated that over and over again. I do believe the quote is "We were hating record companies while all these new bands were giving handjobs to get a record deal" So shut the fuck up, accept the fact that people make a living and sometimes that living is better then yours. If you really want me to prove my point, turn off the security at your work, give me the address, and I'll 'rip your product' because its there and I don't care for your work.

I said fu#k Metallica and I WON'T buy that new p.o.s album. I used to be a HUGE fan, I went to their concerts, paid 40 bucks for a shitty t-shirt from their concert.
And what do I get? Harrased by Metallica, When will these guys learn? There true fans will buy the damn CD if they like it, the posers who would NEVER buy the album will burn the tracks, so what, they wouldn't have bought the CD in the first place and if anything they may get someone hooked on the burnt copy and that person will go out and by the real CD. I mean it's a load of crap if you think about it, can't they think of their fans being a little hard up? If they hadn't bitched so much, I would have downloaded St. Anger JUST until I could afford the CD, shit can't they "LEND" me a song until I buy the CD. Anyways, im done ranting, probably didn't make much sense, but that's okay. |

Goes back to my theory that just because you can't afford a CD doesn't mean you have the right to download it for free. It's stealing. Deal with it.
Plus, I like about 1/2 the tracks on St. Anger (Frantic, St. Anger, Some Kinda Monster, Shoot Me Again, All Within My Hands.) The rest isn't great, but I think this is a "palette cleansing" album. They got back to their roots to clear their head. I'm guessing the next album will be more structured again.
