Looking for passionate hip-hop songs
I'm looking for inspiring hip-hop songs along the vein of the following:
Nas- Ether Nas- NY State of Mind Pastor Troy- Vice Versa Method Man- Judgment Day LL Cool J- Mama Said Knock You Out Outkast- B.O.B Petey Pablo- Raise Up |
Power to the People - Public Enemy
Fight the Power - Public Enemy Brothers Gonna Work It Out - Public Enemy Bring the Noise - Public Enemy Rebel Without a Pause - Public Enemy My Philosophy - Boogie Down Productions Shake Your Rump - Beastie Boys Looking Down the Barrel of a Gun - Beastie Boys Shadrach - Beastie Boys Why yes, I am decidedly old school...but all these rock out regardless. |
Jay-Z - The Black Album...
The whole thing is a work of art. |
hey snoop, you might want to check out www.pandora.com.
|
You're looking for something more energetic tunes though, right [as opposed to socially passionate] ?
I definitely second the pandora rec. also: Dead Prez, especially their song 'Hip-hop' Little Brother - minstrel show [some of the cuts off there, i forget the names] Clipse boogie down productions If you're looking for socially passionate, then Pandora's use is a bit limited because it doesn't analyze the content of the lyrics (it's the only flaw that I know of for pandora). hope it helps. catcha back on the flipside, will. |
NWA - Straight Outta Compton
|
Rodney O & Joe Cooley---"Get Ready To Roll"
|
Talib Kweli & Mos Def - Respiration (from the album Black Star)
Common - I used to love H.E.R If you can find Spearhead - "Stay Human" (the live version) it's really good, or PM me and I'll share it with you somehow. But it's not exactly hip-hop. |
