Oh GOD! Devo isn't even dead yet!
I think we're in the end-days now! Oh crap! Disney is pure EVIL! I was actually chuckling at this until I got to Beautiful World... What they did to Beautiful World - it's just beyond the pale!
http://disney.go.com/disneyrecords/Song-Albums/devo20/ Whatever Disney exec came up with this can go **** themselves with an energy dome. |

It appears to be sanctioned by DEVO. Heck the Mothersbaugh's have been writing music for Nickelodeon for years now ...
On the one hand I'm appalled ... on the other, as a father of a 4 year old, I think it's pretty amusing. EDIT - http://www.mutato.com/ Click through here and you'll find more information about DEV2.0 |

haha, i know people who are true blue devoted devo fans. who were mere toddlers when devo were in their prime back in the hey-day.
its just a matter of taste i guess. some people see them as one hit wonders, others see all the other music they created, and adore them... still.

Interesting, I don't see a problem though. The record companies have been doing things like this forever. I remember owning a Sesame Street album back in the early 70's that had some Beatles and Beach Boys songs on it.
Thinking about it, I would rather have kids singing than fucking Bert and Ernie singing Yesterday, Da Do Ron Ron and Surfin USA. But when I was 5-6 years old it was cool to hear them sing. And what about the Chipmunks and the Muppets and so on. I look at it as a way to expand the music to other audiences, who may not have ever heard of the original group. I have a feeling if this takes off, you'll see Devo selling a lot of albums, maybe getting airplay and touring in a big way again. I don't hate Disney for this, in fact I think it's great someone actually thinks highly enough of Devo to put their music out in a way that may sell to a new market. I wish someone would do it for the KINKS.

I just love people who use the excuse "I use/do this because I LOVE the feeling/joy/happiness it brings me" and expect you to be ok with that as you watch them destroy their life blindly following. My response is, "I like to put forks in an eletrical socket, just LOVE that feeling, can't ever get enough of it, so will you let me put this copper fork in that electric socket?" |

The Devo video "Freedom of Choice" is pure evil; I'm sorry to say my mind was scarred by that on VH1 Classic late one night..why couldn't they have just played a nice Poison video instead?
