Enzo dethrones McLaren in R&T!
to be honest, i didn't think that the Enzo was going to have the balls, but have you guys read the July Road & Track? they have the Enzo beating out the "king" McLaren F1 in 0-60 (3.3), 1/4 mile (11.1), skidpad (1.01g) AND slalom (73.0)
that is just insane, excuse me while i go change my pants.

I think Car and Driver also confirmed that. I knew the McLaren would eventually fall, but I didn't think it would be to a Ferrari. Actually, I was expecting something like the new Bugatti, the Koenigsegg, or the Saleen S7 (which actually does beat the McLaren in 0-60 and top speed).

I'll wait for more magazines ... and it'd be more realistic to do side-by-side comparisons.
What about 0-120, breaking times. And there is one thing the Enzo will not have (yet, or at all?) - actual race experience. The McLaren F1 has won LeMans and other races. The Enzo (at the moment at least) is unlikely to be raced. I still reckon that the McLaren is the ultimate GT car - drive across a continent to a circuit, race it around for a while, drive back home. |

I really like the fact that the Enzo that they used was a privately owned car! They showed pictures of the lucky owner and everything, he even went on the entire trip with the editors. Now that would be cool.

Mclaren F1: Design started in 1980's. Sold in 1994.
Ferrari Enzo: Design started in 1998. Sold in 2003. Way to go. Caught up in just under a decade. Let's all clap for Ferrari. PS: Totally subjective, MF1 looks better than Enzo after all these years. Peter Stevens whoa what a job.
