Finding an Owner's Manual
So I just bought a used car and it did not come with an owner's manual. The dealer says he can get me one but for a price. Is there any cheap (or free) way to get old owner's manuals for cars?

If you get lucky at the salvage yard you might be able to find one.
|
Used to be you could find loads of them at wrecking yards. Now the yards and their workers grab most of them and sell them aftermarket. Check ebay.
|
How much? What kind of car is it for, anyways? Some manuals aren't much money.
|
And then ask if you really NEED it. It won't really tell you anything other than how to work the seatbelts and where the headlight switch is.

I live by my Haines Guide. $15 at AutoZone. It tells me how to fix the stuff, so I guess I'm becoming familiar with my Jetta backwards. Literally from the inside out. But VW wanted $75 for a new manual. I laughed. A lot.

ebay would be a good start but if it's a common car that you find i.e. civic, then just go to a junkyard and look for one.
|
Internet would be my guess Google it man!

http://www.helminc.com prints and distributes many of the OEM manuals around.
