WTF!!! Any Suggestions?
I have a 1997 Chevy S-10 LS with a 4.3 Vortec V6. About six weeks ago, I pulled into a parking spot at work. I got out, and realizing I had parked crooked, got back in my truck and turned the key. Nothing. The lights, radio, and door ajar tone did not work, it was as if the battery was dead. My truck is basically stock except for an aftermarket stereo and some low power fog lights. The only think in the cab getting power was my fog light switch, which was lit up in the off position? I pulled the hood release all the way out, no response from the latch. I banged around on the hood latch area of the hood a little to no avail, and went inside the building to get a friend to help. When I came back outside, I pulled the hood release, and it opened right up. Nothing looked wrong and wouldn't you know it, the engine started right up. I drove home and parked it. The next day, I went outside and got in my truck; same damn thing. This time I "tapped" on the hood until it opened and it appeared that my battery terminal was loose. I unhooked everything and cleaned every thing with baking soda and water. After reatachment the problem was fixed.
Tonight when I was leaving work it happened again, even the fog light switch. The hood wouldn't pop so I banged on it and the it worked. I wiggled the battery terminal and the truck started right up. I drove it home, turned it off, and restarted it, just fine, I need help. I will update tommorrow if I have any more problems. |
