Audi A6 Quattro Should i get it
I'm in the market for getting a second hand car, now i just seen an A6 quattro which has taken my fancy. It's second hand and was built in 2000 and cost £9500 ($18000). Engine size is 2.4 petrol, no marks on it, leather seats, air con plus other extras. Mileage is quite high 90000 miles, this concerns me slightly but then again seen some exceeding 180.
So i was wondering if any of you have any experiance with Audi, whether there has been any big problems or whether the money would be better spent elsewhere? Thanks for your help, i know this car will go quick so please reply asap.

all that I know about german cars and engineering is that they are a bit steep to maintain. Other than that they are solid vehicles that maintain their value.

for an audi, and a fairly large engine size at that, 90,000 miles is nothing.

From working at a parts store, ive seen that audis can be a handful. They require special fluids in many cases (like coolant, pwr steering and transmission). Not to mention parts are expensive and recommended only to be intsalled by proffesionals (or ppl really good with cars). From what ive heard, the A6 is a pretty solid vehicle, but some have said that it lacks power, and isnt that good with gas. Its your call, but if you want to work on it yourself, i would avoid audi.

i reckon that the a6 is a beautiful car, nicer and more individual that a 5-series or something...
is something that size with that size of engine in a pertrol not going to cost a fortune to run? would a diesel not be a better option? reliablity wise i think audis are good, and inside it'll still be solid even after 200,000 miles... have you considered an s-type...?

Thanks, i'm still thinking about it, after doing some reasearch the miles per gallon doesn't seem to be tip top. I'll go for a test drive today and see whether it's really what i want and have a look at this mileage thing.

i've just given in to the mpg thing...i went from a car doing 34mpg to my new one which, when i get it, will do 50mpg...
have worked out that it'll save me about £50 a month in fuel... plus the diesel was sooooo much better to drive than i thought it'd be!

Right i have come to a decision, i love the car but will wait till i see a diesel version of it, I think mpg is important enough and after what fatbob said you got to think about it.
Thanks for all the feedback, hopefully i'll find a diesel version of it now.
