When will the new mustang become a rental car?
One of my favorite things is when a cool car is available as a stock rental car. I've driven the Chrysler 300 as a rental car and I'm just waiting for the day when I can rent the new mustang from Hertz for a week-long trip.
Anyone heard anything or seen anything? Are there other cars (non-exotics) that you like renting from the main rental companies? |
Track day coming up?
Seriously, call & ask. They'll usually put the first of their desirable cars in their large markets, and airports come first. It's an image thing for both the rental company and the manufacturer. |
Not sure when, but most likely they will only have v6 models up for grabs, maybe some v8's but few. Then again the new mustangs are programmed so you can't do an extended burnout, so maybe they won't have to worry about people renting v8's.

that would be a pretty cool way to get to drive some cool cars...

The GTs are kind of limited buy can definately beat on them enough that it would be unlikely Hertz would bother renting them out.

Too bad a lot of rental companies now track the speeds their cars are driven and fine the crap out of you. You're better off going on a test drive through a dealer.

To answer the question, you can definitely already rent the V6 model. A friend of mine got one down in Florida in late December.
This is actually an excellent idea if you are car shopping. Rent one for a day and drive it to work, to the store, etc. and find out if you really like it. |
