1999 Lancer ignition light
Hi everyone.
I've got a 1999 Mitsubishi Lancer and there's no light in the ignition. When you open the door the roof light comes on, but as soon as you close the door the light turns off and the interior is in complete darkness, so it's hard to put the key in the ignition. Can anyone tell me if the clear plastic ring in the photo here is where the light should be, and has just burnt out, or if there is no light there in the first place? If the globe has burnt out, how do I go about fixing it? And if there is no light there at all, is there any way I can rig up a light myself to glow until the engine starts? Cheers! <img src="http://groups.msn.com/_Secure/0PgCfAjESnDX!hj5Rz4Z0SSxyMhtJaAmeWaC9DihM6BotcfvcpXFHdCvmsxKngwNFNTud6qxLudCaJ9VbAp23tuTBGdr5c6MM/light.jpg?dc=4675504557979615917"> |

If yours is a later model and still doesn't have a light then I suppose mine wouldn't either, being three years older. I'm surprised it isn't more common. The car is still quite new to me (only had it for two months) but I'm pretty good at finding the key hole usually, I just think a light would be neat and handy.
Is there any way to hook up my own light and connect it to the battery somehow? Last edited by Rlyss; 01-05-2005 at 04:48 AM.. |
