its not exactly surprising that the DUC won, the only question in my mind, is would the gap had been bigger if they had tested the Lambo against a 4 cylinder litre bike....

I agree and it probably would have been bigger. Alot would depend on the rider and how he handled the bike it looked like that guy did get the most out of that 999 though.

it was suprisingly close, I thought that the Duc would dust it with the superior accel., but I guess the Lambo could sort of slide through the corners better.

Good video, the course they are running on defently favors a car considering how tight the course is. If they were on more of a HP oriented track I don't think it'd be much of a race. That GTP car should slaughter that 999 on that course -it'll be intresting to see the numbers they post with that!

On a side note, did you see how high the Lotus Elise did? 3-4th

If they wouldn't have run the Lambo sideways as much as they did, it probably would have posted a faster time.

I guess they made lots of laps with both lambo and ducati to achieve these times... and it couldn't really be done better.

Cool vid. I thought it was gonna be like a drag race or something. I wonder who would of won then? I dont really know much about Ducatis, but ive seen some Civics beat crotch rockets in the quarter mile.

I disagree, he could have backed that thing in a lot better...

granted, I only watched the vid once, but from what I recall, he was leaning off the Duc quite a bit, which if you are using the full capabilities of the bike, you should'nt be able to do, the bike should be so cranked over you can't lean off it that much, as you can see in the pic I attached...

granted, the Duc was on street tires and not the slicks that Rossi there is on, but still, I feel he could have gotten more out of the bike...

oh, and mebbe late apexing the turns would have gotten him further ahead of the Lambo... bikes accelerate like crazy, but their top speed is limited due to the fact that they are only aerodynamic until you put a rider on them, a rider on a well designed sportbike is prolly the aerodynamic equivelant of an open parachute...

just my opinion...

I was quite surprised that it was so close. Gotta love Lambos...

The Ducati (or any bike) should win off the line due to better power/weight ratio.

That video needs to be re-named "What I would give my left nut to spend a day doing." Great video!
