Has anybody heard of Glenn Curtiss V8 motorcycle
I was looking at motorcycle links and discovered a small section with this man and his motorcycle in 190, I search more and found this....I wanted to share...as it was knew to me.......
"Curtiss and his world record 136.36 mph V8 motorcycle, Ormond Beach, Florida, 24 January 1907" http://www.glennhcurtiss.com/141bc2270.jpg http://www.glennhcurtiss.com Mr. Curtiss seem to be in everything....check some of the facts , for someone to be into just about everything.....it's just awsome, and the V8 too! For all of the motorcycle people including myself from what I read he has also invented the "right-handle throttle connections" :D |
Another underappreciated pioneer. I think he also was among the first to draw the conclusion that aerodynamics was important to a motorcycle, as he laid on his seat during his top speed runs.

At 136 mph no much to hold on to....Smart man.
