Lowering Kits
Does anyone know of a good site that would have a lowering kit for a 1982 G20 Chevy Van?
Or should I just go to the local Midas/Suspension shop? |
I don't know but on some cars you can just rotate the torsion bars
|
DJM makes great kits

don't think this van has them, its got coil springs, leafs springs and shocks in the rear and the front its just got coil springs and shocks people at work say cut the coil springs, but I'm not into that kinda work, I could cut the coil springs but I don't know what to do with the Leaf Springs! And Sancho do they have a website? |
Ayy, no. Dont cut your springs to lower the car. Get shorter springs with a different spring rate even, but do not just cut them.

Not sure but I would think a Chevy truck kit might fit thats from the same era...talk to your local GM mechanic...they make these nice inexpensive kits that use spacers on the leaf springs and shorter front springs...easy as hell to install....

Chopping springs to lower cars makes baby Jesus cry. It also throws your camber way off, which is why you see so many Civics and Integras with wheels angled almost 15 degrees.

Hmmm lowering could cause more harm then good if you do it wrong.
