Hey, look, I painted my calipers! [link]

Things like this reaffirm my belief that we have to stop interfering with natural selection.

OMG....he actually painted his rotors....as in the braking part of the rotor. Whaddya bet he got the friction side of the pads to....
And he did such a good job with the calipers, they blended in with the grass perfectly...its like you cant even see them.

My favorite quote from that thread.

is this a joke? are you retarded?

I saw this link on another forum earlier today, and I was absolutely stunned. Stunned that he was able to figure out how to take the rotors and pads off, because he's a total fucking moron.

What's going to happen if that dude tries to drive around with those?

Natural selection.

Or in other words Darwin gets him.

The person who posted it was winding up elitist forum members. I think it worked.

While I'm not seeing the first link, I'm imagining that the second link has the pics of the painted rotors? Painted rotors won't hurt a thing. It wears off pretty quickly. When I installed the new EBC rotors on my car, they were painted black right from the factory. They told me I didn't need to turn them or sand them first. After about two days of normal driving, they were a nice silver finish from the black paint being worn off. The paint made NO difference in brake effect.

merkerguitars 05-21-2004 07:40 AM

Heh, that was worth his time painting......I could understand the inner part of the rotor (since with most rims you can see that part) but the dude didn't even paint his calipers...it was just the pads.....

laconic1 05-21-2004 01:02 PM

It was hilarious the way he painted that, but almost as funny was how everyone was convinced he was going to die in a fiery crash. The paint would have burned off pretty quick and it would have smelled for a while, but it wouldn't seriously impair his braking performance.

I thought I was going to choke reading some of the thread entries. That's got to be one of the dumbest things I have ever seen.

Maybe he should bling up the windshield while he's at it.

matteo101 05-21-2004 01:44 PM

Why in God's name did he do that?

Look closely, the pad surface is facing up, if you lean your head in really close to the monitor, you can see the edge of the friction surface.

I'd like to see the finished product on the car. How did they look?

Hey folks, I just wanted to quote Seņor Jwoody once more for those of who who may not have noticed -- it was a joke!! :D

Man, that's hilarious!!! Very well done, I was fooled at first too but after a close look at the paint job, you've got to figure he's screwing around.....:p

Well, it actually makes sense considering how much there is to do in Wisconsin...
