turbo lag i guess

WarWagon 05-09-2004 01:56 AM

Bitchin, even if it is a Ford.

Cynthetiq 05-09-2004 04:54 AM

wow.. not even a couple car lengths to make it interesting, but by 18 wheeler truck lengths.

Scorps 05-09-2004 09:25 AM

That is crazy..............The thing sounded like a jet engine!

GarthInPittsburgh 05-09-2004 10:06 AM

Lots - o - turbo :P

wrongfullyaccuzd 05-09-2004 07:38 PM

That was really quick. Did his opponent have any idea...

Fenton-J-Cool 05-09-2004 07:39 PM

F350!? The truck? Jesus. That time is ungodly anyway, let alone for a pickup.. and a pickup of that magnitude..

Asuka{eve} 05-09-2004 08:26 PM

How good is 11.42 anyway????

CrazySaturn 05-09-2004 08:38 PM

Ummm, damn good. A stock Z28 Camaro will run mid-high 13's.

Stare At The Sun 05-09-2004 10:10 PM

^Try a 14 flat with a good driver. LS1's and the SS's make high 13's, again, with a good driver. LT1's are all in the 14's.

Jackebear 05-10-2004 02:03 AM

I think that Pulsar or whatever jumped the gun but Holy Moly...did it ever get embarrassed. Great to see that pickup kick some ass.

Looked like a Ford Probe to me:p

Ilow 05-10-2004 07:46 AM

you know that probe driver is getting shit for getting his doors blown off by a F 350.

It's called bracket racing; each driver gives a goal time that they would like to hit. If they go faster than their goal time they have lost the round.
So, each driver must come as close to their 'bracket' time, without going under. The differential comes in when you have two different cars that are 'dialed' in for different times. I have seen a moped race a Corvette and win! How, you ask? The corvette 'broke out' of it's dial-in by going too fast.

It's the equivalent of giving someone a head start; though it is fair for two drivers with cars that have a great difference in speed.

merkerguitars 05-10-2004 01:59 PM

Damn that is fast.....pretty good for a non aerodynamic brick...

sixate 05-10-2004 02:32 PM

That's easily that baddest turbo diesel on the planet.

Jelorian 05-10-2004 02:37 PM

That was just soo cool!!! What was all that smoke pouring out? What the hell does that guy have under the hood!!!

Watch the tree. It wasn't staggered like they do in bracket racing for different dial in's. It was a pro tree, both greens lit at the same time. He gave the other guy (who wasn't too good at staging, either) a massive hole shot.

Edit- And as much as I dislike Powerstrokes, that was pretty damn cool.

Zoom 05-11-2004 12:00 AM

the car was an older RX7

123dsa 05-11-2004 04:47 AM

One word-Propane.

Lsd

cj22009 05-11-2004 08:26 AM

that was kick ass

RaDiAn 05-11-2004 08:57 AM

Whoa ........that's cool!!

Scorps 05-11-2004 09:19 AM

I beat the F350 driver had a Maddog system in that thing!

Maddog is NOS all the time!:D

Peryn 05-11-2004 10:42 AM

Nos doesn't do anything much for deisels i thought. The Nitrous equivelant is, if i remember right, propane.

Nitroius is very effective as is propane. That truck is prolly using both and a bigass turbo.

BadNick 05-12-2004 01:13 PM

Not bad, but not anywhere near the best I've seen. Check out this place who are noted for moding diesel stuff pretty good:
http://www.dieseldynamics.com/

Under their videos link, I got one where "Keith" runs a 10.41 with the truck he drove to the track and uses for work every day.

maybe it was Propane...but I think it might have been NOS!

Confederate 05-15-2004 03:55 PM

yes propane is the boost of choice for diesels

yea way to demean a good video, whether or not it's the best out there, it still has me impressed

zxello 05-16-2004 01:22 AM

notice in the video that he isn't reving very much before the green, with that truck he probably has a pretty heavy / big flywheel, even tho he races, so I think the reason he waited is just that he had to get his RPM up first.

Destrox 05-16-2004 05:42 AM

damn cool. period.

I would do something like that to mock my opponent if my truck could do that.

CamaroRS1967 05-16-2004 08:40 AM

That was unreal!
