pt cruser
my friends step mom has a pt cruser and in tha last few weeks it has had a problem shuting off she turns the key and pulls it out but the car keeps running i have herd of this happaning befor but it has always been somthing that was fixable her dealer told her that there wasnt anything they could do and i want to know if if any one has had a pt cruser do the same thing and how did you fix it.

I would think that if that's really what you're after, just get an ignition switch. Those can't cost much.

is it an ignition problem, or is it dieseling?

Fuel-injected cars won't diesel.. When you shut it off it kills the fuel pump, injectors, and engine computer/ignition system.
I agree that it's most likely the ignition switch. It was a $10, 15-minute job on my Thunderbird, don't know what it's like on a PT Cruiser. |
My 82 van did that once then I turn the fan on the heater control to off and the engine shut off.....first and last time it did that

Fuel injected cars can diesel. It's not anywhere near as common, you're correct, but I've seen it happen. And, it won't carry on as long as in a carbeurated car.

i dont know how she shut it off i wasnt there but i guess it ran for like and hour or so be for it would turn off
