That is one kick ass salvage yard. I would love to wander around and see if there are any gems in there.

matteo101 04-15-2004 10:04 PM

Thats awesome. I wonder where abouts it is?

matteo101 04-15-2004 10:04 PM

The yard i mean, not my car. haha

Stare At The Sun 04-15-2004 10:34 PM

Crikey! That is a huge salvage yard. I too wonder if there are any gems in there, just waiting to be restored

Scorps 04-16-2004 08:08 AM

There is one here in Kingston about the same size as that....But they don't let you go out and get your own parts:(

I remember the day when I was about 12 or 13 living out west me and my dad would go to junk yards...some of the stuff you find there is cool!

Rodney 04-17-2004 11:23 AM

Never been in one _that_ big, but out here self-service auto salvage yards are fairly common, and I've wandered around in one or two. The thing is, every one of those dead cars tells a story, and aside from getting cheap parts you can learn a lot about people by what they did to their cars.

Nah, things like, there are still people gluing shag carpeting to the top of their dashboards and WHAT THE HELL IS UP WITH THAT?

Frankly, though, for every wreck there's at least one other car, usually an older one, that just got beyond being worth fixing: cracked block, blown transmission, whatever.

wrongfullyaccuzd 04-19-2004 10:23 AM

Fenton-J-Cool 04-19-2004 11:50 AM

Furious masturbation ensues.

The best part is, you just KNOW there's a '70 Hemi Cuda somewhere in there.. :( too bad it shall never see the light of day again

How do you know it will never see the light of day?

Someone could save it!

CamaroRS1967 04-20-2004 01:16 PM

Scorps 04-21-2004 07:49 AM

If you look close at that picture they got a lot of old classic cars..so sad to see them rot away:(

grumpyolddude 04-21-2004 08:18 AM

Just wander through, scavanging pennies and nickels from under the seats.... one could retire!

I'll bet you money there's some old hermit out there in a VW Microbus that's been in the junkyard for about 6 years subsisting on rats and rainwater.

Moonduck 04-23-2004 03:44 PM

Oh wow. Schwing!

See if there are any gems there? I can see more than a few gems in there from that one pic. Every car that I could ID was at least a Classic by age definition. There looked to be some very cool cars there.
