Car Nicknames?
I was just wondering how many of you have gone as far as to naming your pride and joys? Every car I have ever owned has received some kind of nickname:
'84 Chevy Cavalier Stationwagon "The Grunion" '85 Chevy S-10 (w/ campershell) "The Party on Wheels" "88 Ford Ranger "The Red Ranger" '94 Ford Explorer "POS (piece of shit)/ The Exploder" '02 Chevy Tracker "The Roller Skate" I think my brother came up with the best for his motor home: "The Shaggin' Wagon" So share yours... |

My first car was a black suzuki sierra soft top. so naturally I called her "Suzi". The problem was that she kept breaking down on me all the time so she started to earn herself the nickname "The Whore". This was because even though she kept costing me a heap of money she was still fun to ride in. I eventually got rid of her because she was more whore than suzi. So I bought my present car, a blue mitsubishi lancer. I started to think of a name for the car but couldnt find one that really stuck. I was talking to a friend at work and he had this theory that if you named your car a female name then it would always break down all the time but a male name would produce loyal service. He has never found an exception of the rule and either have I. So i looked for a male name for my lancer. But since it is a real wog car I would constantly take the piss by calling it "De Lancer" (in wog accent). Eventually it just stuck as its name so now I just call my car "Delancer". I know they arent really original names but they just stuck. Kind of like how some samarai used to name there swords by maditating until the name just dawned on them.

I call the Mustang Grumpy because it often sits for a while and the fuel system needs to be primed, but it only has a mechanical fuel pump, so it takes it a while to start, (doesn't like wake up) hence Grumpy .
I normally just call the maxima, the max or something like that. No real name for it, lol. I'm surprised my friends haven't thought of one yet either, lol.

My not-so-purple tacoma has been dubbed "The Purple Monster" by my friends.
And my friend has a green Ranger named "Tommy" ala the power rangers. Lastly, the evil Fairlane Skyliner is now the "Rustbucket" as we can't figure out what's wrong with the electrical.

I have a 2001 Huydai Accent that I call the Silver Hornet, after inspector Clouseau's ramshackle Citroen. I also have a 1998 black ford ranger named Spot Jr. (Spot was the 1989 black ford ranger I used to have.) My wife used to own a silver Stratus, which I called the grey fog, and she traded it for a red one, which was then the red fog.
I have a buddy, Dana, who used to have a 23' long Baby blue Lincoln town car (big enough that I once slept on the hood of it.) That was the Züül Train, and My buddy will has an onld Continental that he calls the Queen Anne's Revenge, after Blackbeard's flagship.

The old '86 F-350 I used to have was nicknamed 'The Pimpmobile" by my friends due the the doodads the previous owner had applied and I left on there.

My current car:
'94 purple Firebird-- The "Nerd Bird" It's been a long running joke that I'm a nerd, though I think that I'm the only one who still insists that I am. Still, I got this awesome ride and slapped on some plates, "NRDBRD 1", to the chagrin of my friends, lol.

I never named any of my own vehicles, but my brother once had a mean old Thunderbird (early 80s I think) that was a real dog and looked like shit too. He called it the "Thunderbarge"

I used to drive my dad's '88 white Dodge Dakota pickup which my friends lovingly called "The Beast". That thing was a menace.
Our silver neon was also dubbed "Pixie" by them. My personal favourite was my friend's Aztec we called "Bugly". Im sure you all can figure out why |

My Dad's '92 Ford Aspire is known to all as "The Crumplatron". A buddy of mine had one, and he got into a fender bender with it and the front end just crumpled... The name has kinda stuck with it.
The red Ford Festiva we had before that was "The Red Baron" because the muffler kept dieing and it sounded like an old airplane engine.

My dad had a 73 Ford Custom 500 with a 351 Windsor in it, the all time POS without a doubt.
My friend nicknamed it "the gas guzzling dinosaur" And it was true too. In 93 or so, I bought an 82 Chevy Citation with a 2.8 V-6 that I called "Blue Thunder". |
