Looks very nice....I almost prefer the simpler look of the base car with the V-6....those huge round foglamps on the GT really put me off. But that 300 horsepower V-8 really turns me on

I'm definitely glad to see they offer one without the big ass bug eye headlights. I like the rims on the V6 better too.

Never been a huge Mustang fan, but I really like the look of this one. It really reminds me of the '69, which is one of my favorites. I assume that the performance will go alongwith it's good looks (new gt40 engine anyone?).

Nice car indeed. I almost bought a new 04 'stang until I read about the redesign of the 05s. I'm very excited about the new ones. I saw a picture from some website with a 05 in white with blue racing stripes - looked very nice.

Yes I agree, the 2005 GT Mustang looks very much like the 69 Mustang.

Here Is a video I recorded about 12 years ago of my 69 Mustang, a friend of mine (Jerry) Is driving It.

My 69 Mustang

In this video It has some of the parts removed, and It now has different wheels.

Looks like your friend Jerry's a helluva character! That's an awesome Video, do you have a 302 in that or did you upgrade to a 351? I hope Jerry bought you a new set of tires!

I've said it before and I'll say it again, Ford KILLED the lines of the production model. I'm die hard GM, and even I could admit that I loved the looks of the concept. But IMO, everywhere they had cut corners, i.e the grill, the back end, the scoops on the side, the wheels, the hood, the little side window, the contour of the headlight surrounds and front end, they just killed it. It just lost all of that finesse and attitude, and now its, well, a Mustang.

yeah im not a fan of the restyle whatsoever now.....the concept looked much better than this, with larger wheels, a lower stance, and the lack of those bug eyes in the GT........as I always say "What was Ford thinkin?"......til then, ill dream about my 350Z Track

I am glad to know it's not just my imagination. When I watch the video above with the Classic Green V6 model, I was a little disappointed to say the least. I was expecting the car to have better lines and a more detailed grill, like the prototypes they were showing and we were all in love with. Not so happy with the back end either, what the hell happened?!? They were supposed the have the car at the auto show this weekend but there were supposed space issues and the car did make it. Instead they had the Crown Victoria up on a revolving platform. I was very disappointed...

When I bought the car, It had a 302/2B ... C-4 trans ... Drum brakes ... 8 Inch Rear-end.

It now has a 351C/4B ... C-6 Trans ... 9 Inch nodular-iron case Trac loc ... front disk brakes.

that's awesome, I've always heard those cleveland blocks are indestructable. Nice upgrades on the 9inch and the disc brakes, drum brakes suck.

Only thing on the production model that I do not like is the hood, somthing needs changed.. even a fake intake would be good.

And Nomad, your friend Jerry is seriously off the balance of "sanity" for that lil shovel thing he did.

That presenter in the first clip badly needs a haircut.

This car is embarassingly bad. They even had to set fire to the back of it to make it look exciting for its debut.
A live axle? On a sports car? In 2004? Shurely shome mishtake.
One man's classic cues are another man's hackneyed clichés and shameful lack of imagination. The only thing I like about the 'new' Mustang is the 'extreme personnalisation' offered by the myriad of instrument light colours one can select. This is laughable. Really.

This car is awesome... there's not much more to say about it. It's was about time that ford did something else to the mustang. They were revitalizing the olders styles of the bullit and the mach 1 so why not go back to the 69 for the retro feel. It's going to be a sweet car and will be even better with the cobra svt model

Jerry knows how to drive.

Quite the car you've got there.

The new 'stang is awesome with the whole retro thing going on. We just need GM and Chrysler to remake other models like the '68 Camaro, '70 Firebird, '71 'Cuda, '72 Duster, and '70 Challenger and we're set.

Can we say, muscle car era encore?
